I disagree because I’ve done it real world to some degree. Which granted it’s anecdotal but I can easily see where with his BF% and regime 300-500 really isn’t that big of a deal.

The metabolism thing is misdirected thinking IMO. If you train intense as fukk, eat the right carbs with low to moderate fat intake it’s there to be done if you have or are working towards really getting the muscle. I’ve seen with my average ass so for him it’s nothing.
So would you rather high fat intake or high carb intake??

I know you really bout this fitness life so I'll rely on your expertise on this one. I can't dispute you and Jeff when I know y'all both live this shyt.

I can only go off what works for my genetics and body type and high carbs never allow me to shred like I shred when I go low.

For context I’ve done damn near keto and carb cycling but never quite a dedicated everyday high carb every day setup. At the end of the day it depends on the goal but at this point I would prioritize higher carb over higher fat just for performance alone.

How many daily carbs you do on a cut?

Oh yeah and it’s always and individual thing. For me and you can go back through threads (not really but it’s there in the gym forum) I was super anti-carb and low carb for a long time. I would even say that 190 a day consistently is a strong number. I’d have to look but when I had a carb cycling coach I was doing 400 or so grams twice a week while trying lean bulk. I’m betting on the average it equaled out. I was probably doing 300-350 of those grams at night and would wake up the next morning with no bloat or “weight” gain. So for someone like Jeff even daily 300-500 and his muscle just soak all that up. I will say the fat to carb ratio is overlooked. Talking broadly if the carbs are a hamburger and French Fries that’s not ideal.

I prefer to cycle so base level 100-125 daily with one to two higher days in the 300 so that like 157 daily average.

eat protein, natural fats(like butter, nuts, cream cheese, coconut oil, red palm oil(great for eye vision because of betacarotenes and vitamin e) and veggies and tea/water/coke zero and you will be good. Fat and protein are very satiating. I only eat one meal a day and drink water/tea the rest of it.

no ketchup or sauce with sugar/carbs

just throw carbs/sugars/fast food/ in the bushes and dont drink your calories.
Hard to not eat carbs
