I think exercise also plays a factor
I remember being real obese and weighing 305 pounds at 5’11.
I started following a diet of eating 600 calories daily :snoop:and in two weeks I actually gained a pound, I was feeling bloated and blood pressure rose
Once I started doing hiit my blood pressure dropped at a alarming rate and I stopped feeling bloated immediately and started losing weight.

I should count calories but I'm too lazy.

I've cut all drinks with calories and watch what I eat.

I think when I get real serious I'll count them but salute to anybody who's finding their way to a healthier life :salute:

I do make sure to take a quick look at the nutritional facts of what I eat.

This low carb shyt got me feeling sluggish af... Like I woke up tired.

About to try and force myself to gym...

And you Keto brehs... how in tf do you deal with the cholesterol ???

I’m cool with all this meat (:dame:) and man food (mines is mostly turkey based too) but I can’t help but look at the cholesterol like:picard:

I ate a lot of avocado, evoo and nuts for fats. Meat was 90% chicken and fish. I don't think you have to worry about cholesterol if you stick with those stuff.

I've been trying to lose weight for the better part of 20 years.

Dieting never worked for me. In the beginning years, I noticed that I would lose weight (like 20 pounds), and then I would hit a plateau, and then I would gain the weight back. Eventually, I got to the point where I would go on a diet and not lose weight at all. Surprisingly, eating what I want (not too much and not too little) and doing some plyometric exercises has worked, albeit slowly.
What got me started on my current path was reading an article a couple of years ago about how the participants on the show "The Biggest Loser" all gained their weight back. The write-up detailed how their bodies systems changed and primed them for weight gain. Now I know most people think that they all went back to their old ways, but that's oversimplistic thinking.

When you restrict your calories, your body starts producing more cortisol because of stress, which makes it harder to lose weight. Your hormones, specifically leptin (controls appetite) and ghrelin (controls fullness) stop working properly. Your tdee comes down to match your restrictive diet. This is called Adaptive Thermogensis. I think all this happens because the body believes it's experiencing a famine and trying to keep you alive. A restrictive diet will help you lose weight (and a good amount of it will be muscle) but your body is priming you for weight gain. Once you go back to a normal diet (from the restrictive one) all of these factors are going to come together to help you gain all your weight back. Now this affects everyone differently, but generally, these are the results you can expect.

My theory on weight loss? Eat maintenance calories and do a mixture of running/jump rope and plyometric/resistance training 5 days a week. Walking doesn't work, tried it already. Don't expect quick results. This is my theory.

I wish I would've been on this hype before the summer but better late than never. The app is free brehs! I want all my coli folk to try it for a week and tell me if they seen the results on the scale.

P.S- This is a great way to shred if you're in the gym and lifting.

Downloading that app and really paying attention to how many calories I ate was literally life changing.

My entire life I had never considered how many calories I was eating. Between snacks, beer, pop/juice I was easily eating 3500+ calories a day, with little physical activity.

Since downloading that app and getting myself together I've lost about 65 lbs. I don't use the app daily anymore as I've pretty much gotten my calorie intake down to a science, but the app did its job in helping me change/improve my life, for the rest of my life.

So Cal
Yeah I lost 25 pounds by counting calories since like late June/July, bringing my overall total to 50 pounds because I did the same shyt like 2 years ago. A nikka been relapsing lately with the food though, only so long a nikka can eat salads and shyt everyday. And I don't really wanna lose weight anymore, I'm tryna put on muscle now.

People see me and be like:leon: damn you lost weight. Never let yourself get:flabbynsick: brehs, biggest mistake I ever made.
