I just got up on this "Myfitnness pal" app and started counting the calories I consume. It's crazy how many calories you can take in without even knowing brehs. Just by cutting out juice and sports drinks you can eliminate like 400 calories a day.

When you count the calories before you consume something you'll think twice about it if you have a daily calorie limit in order for you to lose or maintain weight.


I know this is old to y'all but this app works.

Juice and soda are for little kids.

If you have a juicer/blender that's different but MFers out here drinking juicy juice or hawaiian punch need to quit.

"Sports" drinks are good to replenish electrolytes, but even the amount of those drinks should be limited.

Trying to get my cousin in shape. With a straight face....he told me he wants to lose weight and damn near went into shock when I told him to reduce/eliminate/dilute with water the juice he drinks all the time.

How many calories do you think most folks need to maintain their weight? 1800 a day and most adults would lose about a pound a week
weight,age, physical activity, metabolism,body type...and even the climate you live in are factors if you're trying to determine amount of calories needed

But he’s acting like you’ll be malnourished in 1800 calories a day when it’s a perfectly suitable amount of intake for your average adult. If you’re a 6’6 athlete obviously you need more fuel. Your average joe probably needs 2k calories a day and would shed a reasonable amount of weight over time at 1800

It was to make a point stupid ass not an accurate assessment of calorie exertion per activity per hour. You semantics ass nikkaz think you sound smart with your corrections but you’re actually stupid for not being able to understand that I was making a point and not a claim.

This is a good to tool to give a try. I’ve been keeping count roughly in my head and cut tons of sugar out and doing cardio, got down to 164 from up to 215 (was 270 in 08):picard: Started hitting weights two months ago, put on about 8 lbs (guessing some is muscle). I still have little bit of stomach I wanna lose and need to find more sources of protein other than meat or chicken

Don't eat breakfast/the first 5 hours after waking up.


My alarm is at 7.


The first thing I put in my mouth is at noon or thereafter.



So from the time i get off bed until lunch time, the only thing i ingest is water.



My body burns fat during that morning fasting period.



Took a whole lot of discipline but i'm approaching my second month and this is the only weight loss plan that has worked for me in years.



And this eating whatever i want after 12 p.m but cutting it off by 9 (unless it's the weekend). So essentially, for 15 hours a day, no food in my tummy.




Try it.



The compliments are getting to my head :P

This is not healthy at all and I suggest you stop skipping breakfast. You don't have to eat a big meal, but you should be eating something. The health implications of skipping breakfast are pretty bad.

Is a diet comprised of only lean meats and vegetables healthy? I don’t eat any bread, starches, or sugar... lean meats, vegetables, and water...

I eat once a day around 2-4 PM and a typical meal for me might be salmon or chicken breasts and leafy vegetables.

I’m about 15-18% BF and I want to get around 9-10% before I start putting on lean mass. Is my diet the right way to go about it?

No wonder why ya'll failing. You gotta eat smarter, not less. There's nothing wrong with alot of calories as long as you burn them.
You can eat 3k calories and still lose weight vs the person who's eating 1.5k calories but has a soda and chips
If folks are hitting them weights like they supposed to, 3k might not feel like enough. I don't do the bro split shyt, all compounds, no rest. Be out the gym in 38 minutes ( I play the same album every time, 5x8 sets), will smash 4k and the next morning not look like I even ate that much.
Granted a grip of my calories will come from fats cause I am liberal with olive oil and butter, but folks can eat a lot if they are sensible. I rarely take in a liquid calorie(To the tune of 0-5 times a month), I be getting in pizza and frosties from Wendy's...but I DONT SNACK unless its prunes
or pistachios. Even if I eat something like Twix, I count that as a meal and even do that sparingly. My meal for today:

-14 oz Tbone
-2 cups broccoli and kale
-2 5.30z greek yogurt
-3 bananas
-Pork/beef jerky
-Grapefruit
-8 prunes

And I still want to eat:francis:But you bet your ass when I was hitting them squats and front squats, I was working for that food. Folks need to smarten up. 3x a week in the gym and some occasional cardio can change their lives. I don't calorie count. I skip certain things when I see negative
changes in the mirror. Easy as fukk.

Edit: I also IF, and some days, I don't feel like eating anything so I don't.

One thing I suggest for bruhs that have a hard time losing weight is TO GET YOUR THYROID CHECKED.

I went from 240 to 155 over the course of 2 years. It was a slow painful progress and I never understood why. I was a avid calorie counter and needed to eat like 1600 cals to lose weight consistently. I never knew why until I got my thyroid checked this year and it turns out I have hashimotos disease. The thyroid pills has my appetite up and increased my maintenance calories by a lot. I can finally eat like a grown man without putting on weight like a fukking pregnant lady. Get your blood checked bruhs. You may have some genetic shyt going on that could be slowing your progress.
