I use to cut my calorie deficit by 500 to 700 calories for 1 year and 5 months on and off...lost mad weight including muscle mass. My body adjusted and never lost anymore weight afterwards.

Intermittent Fasting lowered my calorie intake but i stayed low carb and showed a faster burning rate, gained muscle strength with heavy fats in a greater amount of time.
@thekingsmen What method of IF did you do? I've been doing 20/4 for the last week.

It’s not that simple. Humans metabolism different foods at different rates. All calories are not the same which is the point of low carb diets.

It is that simple breh. Calories in vs calories out. If you need 2500 cals to maintain your weight. If you eat 2000 cals you will lose a pound a week. Doesn’t matter if you eat 2000 cals of nothing but twinkies.

Now Atkins may make it EASIER to maintain a caloric deficit if you can stick to it, but overall most important factor in regards to weight loss is the caloric deficit.

Its carbs that is the culprit, not calories.
It's the calories. Carbs determine how and when fat is stored. But the baseline always will be calories.

Carbs will more quickly go to fat but at the end of the day energy expended to energy intake will always be the driving force for if fat stays or goes .

It's just that carbs are usually high calorie and most people are better served eliminating them as much as possibly.

Of course you’ll lose weight with an empty stomach, 1800 calories per day for a grown man?

Carbs are not high calorie tho. Protein and carbs are 4 cals per gram while fat is 9 cals per gram

I haven’t counted calories since my early twenties. I’m the smallest I’ve ever been in my life. If you know what to eat, based on how your body responds, practice moderation, and know how to work out smart—you don’t have to count calories.

I just ate two cream filled donuts this morning, with no fukks given about the calories. I don’t do diets anymore either. Once my mindset charged about food, and calories, my weight was like a no biggie. Lifes too short for all that.
