Is that what's going on? I thought it was it was a 'Nick Fury' type of move. I'm black myself so don't get alarmed. Cap was always the ideal white male though.:yeshrug:
Its like when Batman fake his death and Robin took over. These articles aint telling the whole story. This aint the complete replacement of the character. I know its blacks that are against traditional heroes being shaded but its just a movie at the end of the day.

Exactly. Marvel, as usual, isn't being serious about pushing its non-white / non-white male characters. And we all know Thor and Cap will return to their normal stature in a few years and it'll be as if nothing happened.

Meanwhile, Black Panther is getting little to no shine. :snoop:
In the comics luke cage and panther are treated with respect ( more so than say cyborg who is just kind of there in dc and I'm a dc fan )

like I said in the post after the one you quoted:

you would think they would just push one of the many women or black characters they already have, but they too damn lazy and don't want to....so they using the media and fan reactions to these changes as marketing so they don't have to do it themselves.....which is bullshyt....and doesn't really do non white male characters justice, cause once the gimmick is over, so will the push for those type of characters....

True. Ultimately i prefer the route Warner Bros may take with JStewart and Cyborg being part of the main team (unlikely that both make it tho), where it's pre-existing black characters. I also like what the young justice cartoon creators did with Aqualad (original black character who was the leader of the team).

I emphasize warner bros and the YJ creators bc Marvel and DC are still both shady as shyt to me when it comes to treating/promoting their black characters. Shady as fukk at their core tbh, so it typically either needs to be an executive decision made by a parent company to include more black faces in whatever platform... or its an individual creative mind going out of their way to do so on their own (like Bruce Timm with the Justice League cartoon, or the YJ creators).

I still find it hilarious how much of a push deadpool (guy with 2 guns and a sword) got and still gets following the success of the blade movie franchise. We just went through the entire twightlight/underworld/trueblood vampire era and blade couldn't even sniff a team book up until a few short months ago. Meanwhile Hawkeye, who is ultimatley irrelevant but is a 'company favorite', will always be on an avengers book and built up as an alpha-type. deadpool will always be given teamups, team books, solo opportunities, guest appearances, etc. etc.

The first captain america was always black... Patriot is is his great grandson. the tuskegee experiment i think. I also believe the verge article plans to bring josiah bradley into the current marvel U. i think. idk.

if you're a black man you should read this book. Its a top 5 book to me, in any genre. Novels, fiction, non fiction. Man it was amazing :banderas:

They aint trying to turn Cap black. They are using his sidekick to step in who just so happen to be black. Maybe if Falcon was white it would be ok?

They're not changing Steve Rogers' race though. They're taking his partner, another soldier and vet, and putting him under the mask. It's a logical thing to do especially because it's not the first time someone other than Steve has been Cap

Again my thing is, you want change people's perception. Why would it be ok for Bucky to be Captain America over Falcon. Hell we got a Green Captain America but its wrong for his side kick to step in his shoes because he is black?

I get all that trust me.. I just don't even see the need for this storyline period.
