I feel like Punks time has passed. He's not the transcendent talent in ring that AmDrag is for me to believe I'll enjoy his work at this stage. But I'll happily be proven wrongI'm not a huge fan of either. Just glad i'm not the only one that never saw "it" with Punk.

It doesnt even matter if he has classics anymore. They have an entire roster to do that. They just need him to bring more eyes to the product. Which he will do.Dudes really shytting on Punk’s work when he has classics and gave Taker his last great match. You mu fukkas, man.
Alvarez doesn’t seem too impressed if aew got Punk AND Bryan. Compares Punk coming in to when WWE brought back Bob Backlund in the mid 90s.
TNT told AEW after the Sting surprise that they don't want any more unannounced debuts. So that wasn't ever happeningIf true, I really wish this wasn’t leaked. Him showing up without knowing woulda been like Hogan turning heel in 96. IWC would be losing their shyt.
They didn't want any more surprise debuts without THEM knowingTNT told AEW after the Sting surprise that they don't want any more unannounced debuts. So that wasn't ever happening
Jericho said otherwise. No disrespect to Black, Lio, and Andrade; but those guys aren't moving the needle like Bryan does. Getting him is a game changer, and if they're getting him then TNT will want that to be promoted ahead of time to get as many viewers as possibleThey didn't want any more surprise debuts without THEM knowing
They didn't spoil Christian, Malakai Black, Lio Rush, Andrade etc debuting
On the recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, Jericho said that TNT told AEW to not do that again, as they want to let viewers know ahead of time so they'll watch the episode rather than save the surprise for pure shock value.
"When Sting was a surprise, [TNT] was like 'don't do that again.' That's why Paul Wight was announced on social media because TNT said, 'We don't want surprises, we want to take advantage of the ratings.' We had a big surprise, a big announcement, and we used the big announcement to announce the next big surprise. I think that's one of the reasons too, to spread it out a little," Jericho said.
Paul Wright was announced ahead of time, and AEW also teased a big signing for the company, which turned out to be Christian Cage. Both of those make sense now when you factor in TNT wanting buzz to get viewers to tune in.
Report: Daniel Bryan Signs With AEW, Details On His Deal With The Company (Updated)
Bryan Danielson, formerly known as Daniel Bryan, has reportedly signed with All Elite Wrestling.
Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reports that according to a source, the former WWE Champion has signed with AEW, and there are already some plans in place for his debut.
Haynes also notes that working less dates and having the ability to wrestle in Japan were among the things Bryan asked for.
“In addition, I was told that Danielson was wanting to work less dates for comparable money, he wanted the ability to be able to work in Japan, and wanted to have creative input on his character, which he got,” wrote Haynes.
Earlier this week, PWInsider reported that Bryan is not figured into WWE’s merchandising plans moving forward. His WWE conract expired following a Universal Championship match with Roman Reigns on the April 30 episode of SmackDown.
Update: in another post, Haynes noted that AEW is tentatively planning to have Bryan debut on the September 22 episode of Dynamite at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.
“The plan was to hold off debuting Danielson until after all of their plans for All Out were wrapped up, and to bring him in after the PPV,” wrote Haynes. “However, with the news of CM Punk’s potential AEW debut may have caused plans to change.”

That’s not the point of what I’m talking about. A few cats were saying Punk wasn’t “it” in his prime. It may be in regards to his gimmick, but I’m sure I saw a post or 2 (likely in the recent Punk thread) shytting on his in-ring work.It doesnt even matter if he has classics anymore. They have an entire roster to do that. They just need him to bring more eyes to the product. Which he will do.
