Pay Dlo.

If not then you are turning the reins over to Dinwiddie with no proven backup Pg cause Napier prob gone.

Or you can max out broken down ass Kyrie.

Dlo is 23 only going to get better stronger and smarter.

I think Napier would be pretty cheap to keep around. He's on a club option for 1.8 next year and I don't see a world where he gets too much more than that on the market.

I'd probably offer it but I don't think it's simple, if we're rolling with Caris being the better of the two and we end up with both on big deals then cap could get tricky. Especially when Ed is a FA this summer. Joe and Caris are due for extensions the same year, the year after is Jarrett's FA.

The only real danger to sign him for huge I can see are the Suns if they don't get Morant. It's risky because while he can still get better, there are areas that he can't. He's always going to be a liability defensively with lack of athleticism, which also means he has a limit offensively. Can't afford to lose him but I don't entirely like a max for him either.

Was just reading Caris is eligible for an extension.

Despite being under control for next season, LeVert can work out an extension July 1 (even though it wouldn’t go into effect until 2020-21).

“I’d love to play here as long as possible,” LeVert said. “I love the city of Brooklyn, I love the coaches and the team here. So whatever we decide to do, I’ll be happy with.”

Doing so now could be at a more team-friendly price than if LeVert — who has played just 168 of a possible 246 games in his three NBA seasons — stays healthy next season and blossoms into an All-Star like Russell did.

Then I caught this in the article :patrice:

The Nets have become increasingly confident that, unlike during his last free agency, they at least have a chance to land Durant. And a source told The Post he would like to play alongside LeVert.

“It’s like a big brother,” said LeVert, adding he views Durant as a mentor. “He reached out when I was in college. Obviously we had similar injuries and the same surgeon.

“He’s obviously played on a huge stage right now repeatedly for a couple of years, playing in the Finals. He gives a lot of good advice.”

Durant and LeVert share not only the unfortunate bond of foot woes, but surgeries performed by Nets foot and ankle specialist Dr. Martin O’Malley. Durant reached out to LeVert when he had surgery as a Michigan senior. They since have become close, working out together in the summers.

I knew they was cool but I didnt know KD wreached out to him since then...I only thought it was one summer they worked out together turns out its been every summer

I aint tryna get hopes up at all but I know watching Caris develop and blossom has to have him intrigued especially with what we got going on here with the rest of the team.

I knew we definitely had a shot at KD. I’m willing to bet he’ll at least visit during the summer. But it’s news to me that he and Caris were cool. That’s dope.

I remember reading something about their relationship, D'lo did a mini series episode for KD/Thirty Five Ventures showing off Brooklyn too. I just can't see him passing being a Knick if Kyrie is down to follow. If he stays in Boston I think we're the favorites tbh.

just read the article

Russell, who was flying from LaGuardia Airport to Louisville International Airport, was questioned by police after a routine search flagged what at first glance appeared to be a can of Arizona Iced Tea. Upon further inspection, the can had a hidden compartment where marijuana was discovered.

What an idiot

Kevin Durant may be the Nets’ top target in free agency, but he’s not the only one. The feeling around the NBA is the Nets will have a very real chance to pry four-time All-Star Jimmy Butler away from Philadelphia.

Finally having the cash and cachet to get looks from the top free agents this July, Nets general manager Sean Marks is expected to be in the hunt for both Durant and Kyrie Irving. But Butler isn’t just a fall-back plan; he’s a two-way star league sources said the Nets have a real shot at landing.

Caesars installed the Nets as the favorites to land Irving, who grew up a Nets fan in West Orange, N.J. Pelicans GM David Griffin — who was in Cleveland when Irving was there — told NBA TV in February that Brooklyn is “the fit that’s better for [Irving] in terms of his mindset. I think he likes what they’ve done there, culturally.”

Butler is believed to like it as well. When Butler’s situation in Minnesota went sideways, the Nets were reportedly one of three teams he wanted to be traded to. Even after he was dealt to Philadelphia — and with both 76ers owner Joshua Harris and GM Elton Brand saying they’d like to hold onto Butler — the 29-year-old forward is believed to still look favorably on the Nets.

With veterans Ed Davis, DeMarre Carroll and Jared Dudley all free agents, the Nets could use Butler’s experience and big-game persona. Caesars tabbed Brooklyn as the second choice to sign him, after Philadelphia.

Would the 76ers give Butler a max deal considering his age, the tread on his tires, his temperament and their desire to re-sign Tobias Harris? If they don’t (maybe even if they do) the Nets’ young core and surprising sixth-place finish in the East have impressed Butler and others.

“Yeah, I hope people around the league — players around the league — are seeing what’s going on,” Atkinson said.

Marks has been trying to get Butler since he first got to BK..im not a fan of signing him alone esp at a max deal
