More Level headed response; it was too cynical and nihiliatistic (to borrow from another been) for me.
The subtext is hard to ignore.
There was no point in the whole "bullied outsider" thing if he was just "activated."

Like I said early, it would have felt smarter as a movie if they made it where from birth the boy knew what he was on Earth for, and from being an infant until the time of the movie he is observing the human race and deeming if he finds them worthy of living or not. Could have used it to tie in how the kid observed the 'sins of man' and tie in social commentary and stuff.

Really, the biggest thing that upsets me about the film is the "school shooter/incel" vibes.
Even thinking about the scene with the disceting the lady who's daughter she was keeping away from him who he obviously had sexual feelings for.
Just a sick movie TBH.
It was shot and edited very well with dope effects. The story was trash.
Yup pretty much. If that's the route they were trying to go (and I don't think they were) they needed to do a lot more work to get there and show it. He got clowned once, but was already evil at that point anyway.

yea that was basically my main complaint with the movie. They made it just a "switch" thing instead of it being something to where he grew to hate us. He was creepy and a$$hole-ish through the whole thing really. I guess it was just supposed to be a horror movie through and through though and nothing else. I still found it to be entertaining though. I like the idea korey gave on doubletoasted as far as a sequel goes as well. Where there would be a lex luthor type to come in and try and stop him.
