I've watched a few reviews and nobody mention that fukked up...

..stripping and dissecting of the mother

...reveal. That makes the movie a 0/10.

Also, nothing about why he covering up his crimes.

He killed his uncle to hide his bad therapy sessions.

IT WAS HIS AUNT, YOU COULD'VE FAKE IT!

Especially since they wete trying to make him out to be a lying, deviant, now.

And if he was supposed to "take the world" and he's now a heartless killer...

...why'd he only kill his family?

I could only surmise that you'll be one of those explanations that he had to kill those who he left Kostas in order to be able to kill everyone else.and also to reach his destiny.

As I said before the biggest flaw of this movie was not explaining the origins of those that sent him here, those of his people.

I thought it was completely underwhelming. They take no time to build any relationship so once the kid goes crazy no follow-up interaction feels earned, The plot point of him being sent there on a mission and being programmed kills any possibility for suspense over whether he can still be saved. That angle (his "programmed" nature vs his parents' nurture) could've created some actual suspense in the third act, but they don't even bother to explore that in the slightest.

I've seen people here talk about how the movie is nihilistic, but that's not even the case to me because for it to be nihilistic, it once again would require the kid to have his own say in the matter and decide what to do with his powers. Again, the "programmed" angle completely kills any sense of nihilism to the story. The kid doesn't judge the world, he just has his switch flipped evil and that's it, the most absolute limited way of making the kid turn.

That shytty angle pretty much screws over any exploration of actual interesting thematics they could've done with this concept, making it a piece of empty, soulless gore porn.

The kid was a wasp. He told y’all that. He literally broke it down.

Brandon is asked about the difference between wasp hives and bee hives, and responds that bees colonize, whereas one species of wasp is predatory, attacking and killing until a hive is created. Obviously, Brandon is an alien version of one of these insects — his mask features shoelaces pulled through to look like an insectoid proboscis, and the film spends a solid chunk of time focusing on bugs crawling around.
:wow:

i don't get why people in this thread are hating talking about this is nihilstic.....

he's evil superman for fukks sake :heh:

Might have been one of the most comical scenes in a movie I've seen in a long time. Pops took him in the woods and tried to shoot him in the back of the head. Tried to shoot him again and when that failed had the nerve to beg for his life.

:merchant: demonic ass superman. brutal, gory ass death scenes. :blessed: all these other movies be trying to be about some shyt, this was just fukkery :russ:
the ending could be nothing but ridiculous. :dead:

I just saw this earlier. I like it for what it is. It doesn't pretend to be deep and it's not supposed to be. He's basically what Clark Kent would be if he was evil.

The ending though! :russ::mjlol:
