Impeachment proceedings were a little over two months for Clinton and less than a week for Andrew Johnson. Trial in the Senate was a little over a month for Clinton and less than two weeks for Johnson.

As Prez, you have a lot of latitude. He can cite executive privilege or national security concerns if the heat gets too hot. Hell, he can reclassify the doc if he chooses too. The Cold War changed everything in how much latitude the Executive has.

So the argument against trying to investigate Trump for a clearly impeachable offense is that it is not impeachable and thus will further improve his odds of winning an election that he has in fact already won?
