You can’t give the person you’re sleeping with the job especially in a high profile case where your every move and backstory was going to be scrutinized.

Look at the bigger picture. Overall, this is about the case against Trump being dropped. Given the weight of the case, both were sloppy as fyck....literally and physically. Also, you have conflict of interest and that includes the appearance of conflict of interest. Which means there isn't wrong a doing but opens the door to said parties acting seemingly acting inappropriately given their position. For example, getting your dyck sucked isn't against the law but republicans years ago tried to use that against Clinton.
