A 12 year old kid doesnt just stab someone to death, calls the cops and wait till they come. Young breh obviously has mental issues. Black parents tend to wanna ignore those things on some "Aint nothing wrong with my child" steeze. My sister did that when my nephew clearly had autism and was sruggling but she didnt wanna acknowledge it.:snoop: She finally did and he is getting the help he needs after me and ma kept on her about it.

He is a child. He clearly needs help not life in prison.:stopitslime:

It's not a mistake because when your sober you make the decision to drink knowing you have to drive yourself home. Nothing done is accidental.

If your true intention was to take a cab you wouldn't have driven yourself somewhere to get drunk in the first place.
You're still wrong. People get drunk at home all the time. nikka got drunk decide he needs some Wendys and drives off and kills someone. Or how bout dude is drunk and driving just fine and a sober idiot causes the accident, but the drunkard is automatically in the wrong.

Jamarion is charged with the fatal stabbing of 9-year-old Connor Verkerke at a Kentwood playground on Aug. 4. Authorities have said the attack was unprovoked and that Jamarion called 911 after allegedly knifing the other boy, telling a police dispatcher "I want to die. I'm tired of life."

Jamarion's mother and stepfather have been charged with child abuse after the young suspect was found to be covered with bruises after his arrest, and told police about being beaten with a belt and electrical cord.

They are not going to have him walk into the court room in shackles are they? I find that extremely distasteful..... Anyhow if Iam correct about this case, the lad had a terrible home life, and I mean terrible kind of mike tyson esque, if you read tysons book about his early life and we all know how messed up he was despite being fortunate due to his boxing. Iam of the firm opinion that we ought to start punishing the parent or parents of children who commit crime. Not just the child. I would find it extremely difficult to essentially destroy this childs life for ever if I was the judge ,given his background he never had a chance , I think releasing him at 21 would be the right decision, providing he gets care, support and education as well as confinement . He then should be given another chance, however any further problem involving violence no matter how trivial , he should be removed permanently from society because of the horrendous crime he committed.

Iam no liberal, which is why I believe those responsible for this childs life, must also be punished. I believe the parent should be locked up until this child is 21 also. Because lets face it ,any other child in that home is obviously not going to have a chance either, and at some point this chain of misery has to stop. The race of either child means absolutely nothing to me.

Even if we MUST punish the kid...

could they at lease wait until he is 18 or something so that he can understand WTF is going to happen to his life?? I am truly perplexed.

IMO this is what should happen

If he is found guilty, he could receive a blended sentence that could confine him in a juvenile facility until he is 21, and then a judge could determine if he should then be sentenced again as an adult

keep him in a low level juve like they have him now, when he turns 21 do a pysche evalution again and go from there

How exactly is drunk driving a mistake? And did you read the case? It wasn't the first time he drank And drove, he had been an unruly teenager for sometime.

The argument that the defense gave wasn't that it was a mistake, the argument was that he was too rich to know better. I could never Imagine a defense winning a case after they gave an argument that someone was too poor to know better.

LMAO!!! @ a someone who is drunk getting behind the wheel talking about he\she can't wait to drive on the wrong side of the road so he\she can crash head on into an oncoming car............... :dead:

I think most people that drink and get behind the wheel just wanna go home.......

The point is to separate the action from the thought.

Him drinking and than driving, wasn't a mistake. The thought of it, wasn't a mistake.

In hindsight, the action was a mistake when you factor in the trouble it caused.

It doesn't change the fact that he meant to do it,

We're talking about potential consequences vs intent now?

So if I get in the car tired and drive off and get into an accident and someone dies, that was on purpose too?

RIP to the boy. The kid obviously has no idea about the weight of murder. What brings a kid to just stab someone like that tho?

I did it when I was 8 because he called me a 'n1gger' and had been bullying me and my little brother on the schoolbus.

IDK what this kid's reason was and don't want to speculate.

You're making a bunch of excuses, getting behind the wheel is a choice no matter where you leave from.

We're discussing intent...... and no one has explained how driving under the influence means you intentionally want to kill someone, like this kid did with a knife.......

The comparison is absurd......... Its why Drunk Drivers who have accidents that result in a fatality get hit with manslaughter and not murder in the first......... :smh:
