Find a case where a person who was at fault for a fatal accident and not under the influence, got knocked for murder. There is no such thing as "different" types of murder..
A murder is a deliberate act with malice intent..... Key words are deliberate and malice and intent....

This is tough. At that age you obviously know stabbing someone is wrong but I wouldn't want dude to get life or the death penalty which some have suggested

This kid needs mental help, let's not overlook this and impose a harsher sentence because he's a darker shade.
He needs mental help, but I don't think a complete turn around is that easy for a kid who stabs someone to death for no apparent reason. You keep someone like this in prison/mental institution until you are sure that they are not a threat to the public.. which could be forever. Do we know if he was just stupid, and thought that he wouldn't kill the boy.. or was he trying to kill him?

The thread title is unfortunate because it portrays it as a race issue while the motivation of the kid were not racial. From what I got reading the story, kid might have been fed up with the abuse he got from his parents and just snapped and stabbed the other kid to death. His place is more in psych ward than in jail but I can understand considering the gravity of the crime that juvie could be a consequence.
I don't think he's a murderer (as in sociopath) but he did kill somebody while unprovoked and this has to be taken into account in the judgement. The abuse he suffered from his parents has to be taken into account too because it may be the reason he lost it.

People in this thread are idiotic. So you really think drunk driving is the same as stabbing someone intent wise ?. Yes it's bad to drink and drive, but nobody gets drunk and behind the wheel with intention to kill. Do you know how many people have actually driven drunk in their lifetime, damn near the whole population. We not just talking about alcoholics who throw up on they self as they drive with whisky in the car we talking about people leaving the club or dinner. Are you really that mentally handicapped that you can't see how these two circumstances are different. Thats why @Peter Vecsey said those drivers get manslaughter charges. LOL at thinking the intention is the same , Drunk driving falls under negligence more than anything
