Chinese new year is not until February 8th. If they want celebrate\commemorate Chinese new year they can do it closer to the date. Or do it when the Kings played the bulls on the 3rd. Actually a lot of people have been calling him "ignorant" and claiming he was the problem for equating monkey images to black people which is ignorant and naive in itself.

I do agree that he had the right intent and I wouldn't even say it was misguided because they have a home game tonight. Doing this promotion on any day besides the first day of BHM wouldn't be a problem.

And things like this and the school lunch menus with fried chicken and watermelon are those passive aggressive shots that people take at us during the month. Of course the lunch example is more blatant but I guarantee this month we'll hear a lot of other foul moves to spite black people. It's not a stretch to believe monkey shirts on the first day of February when they could have been given a couple of days later is one of those examples.

I'm legitimately offended by that because I think it was a slight at Black NFL players who are disproportionately singled out as the reason for too many men on the field penalties. It's obvious and blatant racism when the Super Bowl is coming up during Black History Month to show the 12 Monkeys trailer.

Why would you be less upset about a monkey on a shirt during Black History Month on the 3rd or any other point during the month? If anything if there was some sly ass attempt to piss you off, they'd just do it on a random day in February when you weren't noticing.
