God damn this is some wild c00nery in here. Even the Chinese people could see where he was coming from (cuz they KNOW angry white fans in the stands would act up) but dudes like @MGM got all the answers :mjlol:

You ever go to a live sporting event you won't be shocked to hear the racist shyt that comes out of drunk fans' mouths. First day of black history month with a monkey on a shirt is ammo. Boogie didn't even call anyone racist or even want to shut down Chinese New Year. He was being wary of what insensitive fans would do. But lemme stop trying to break it down for you slow nikkas. If other dudes couldn't convince yall by page 4 you just might be dumb or want to argue.

I want everyone to consider this example.

2020 will be year of the rat, for this example, let's pretend it begins October 1st 2020

September 23rd is Yom Kippur

Do you think it would be reasonable for a Jewish basbeall athlete to go to their team and say "hey, year of the rat shirts on yom Kippur? Not a good look, agreed?"

Would you have a problem with that. Explain why.

:yeshrug:

what, you want him to say no Year of The Monkey celebrations for the entire month of Feb so yall can have more stuff to be mad about? Maybe by not allowing it for that one day the message is sent about not coming to the arena on that insensitive bullshyt? Idk and honestly don't care. The man flexed his privilege to keep everyone on their toes so in the future they know the bs won't fly. Seems like most people in the community and the organization got the message. The marketing team would definitely think twice if the Chinese New Year shirts could be even remotely thought of as Anti-Jewish so let this man cook.

:what: How is it 'ammo'?

In terms of racist cac fans acting up, how would removing those shirts make a difference in their behavior?

If they're gonna do that fukk shyt, then they'll do it with or without the shirt. They've certainly done it without the shirt pretty well all these years. Meanwhile people who don't have bad intentions can't wear the shirt now

And another thing......where does it end? Now if you see a Chinese dude out in public this year with the shirt, you gonna step to him and check him even though it has nothing to do with black people? We gonna ban 'Curious George' books now?

Of course they'll do it without the shirt, that doesn't mean you just ignore it and say fukk it :stopitslime:

Of course here you come with the faulty logic and slippery slope. "Where does it end?" What are you a 9 year old? No one is trying to ban all monkey related imagery from the Earth. Point is he's controlling what he can in the place HE works. This is what people with privilege do and why PR and Marketing exists. Stop being dumb on purpose.

Nah....sorry, this is a reach

Chinese 'Year of the Monkey' has nothing to do with race, and dude made it about race

I'm all for being aware and looking for concealed racism....but this is ridiculous

We all know the CNY Year of the Monkey has nothing to do with race.... But seriously, giving out shirts with Monkeys on them... on the 1st day of BHM isn't a good look.

Disrespect a culture? They were giving out some fukking shirts at a game. It's not like he canceled Chinese New Year in all of Sacramento. FOH with that extra nonsense.

And you really found a way to bring up Sharpton? :snoop:
Bruh this density is hilarious....

So you wouldn't be offended if shirts celebrating black citizens at a Chinese league game were taken away because a Chinese player got the idea that said shirt was insulting to the Chinese?

A whole entire week before black history month? And his point strictly being "not today?" Absolutely not.
