When you roll down your window, a cop can literally say that they saw anything in your car, giving them reason to search and there's really nothing you could do about it. Once they search, they can literally put anything in there and there's nothing you can do about it unless you are recording the situation for yourself. I could see why a lot of people would not roll down their window.

Wrong. A 'request' is not a 'lawful order' and you are under no obligation to follow 'unreasonable' orders.​

Well maybe she didn't feel the order was reasonable considering that a piece of paper can fit through the slit of a car window I know I wouldn't think that was reasonable.

If you are of the mental nature that you need big ass open window to fit a piece of paper through, then I could see that, but many people would say that you are being unreasonable and perhaps slightly retarded if you can't fit a small piece of paper through a 2-3 inch slot friend.

if she was so paranoid about a random traffic stop turning into a cop planting some hard white on her she woulda had her window rolled up from the jump. most cops are there to just do their job and not get shot while doing it , not plant shyt on you like its training day

roll down the window and ask why you getting pulled over. once he/she gives the reasoning you can go from there and take the L or argue about it.

making basic communication difficult is one of the quickest ways to acquiring that L , in most situations

He gave her a break, it's like you guys miss that part. A lot of things aren't the law, including common sense.

And I also love the selective ass reading of all you who clearly keep ignoring the fact that everyone in this thread has said she should have gotten out of the car when he told her to in order to prevent any wrong doing on her end.

This discussion is literally hilarious because the only thing any of you have to stand on is (a) ignoring what people have already said, (b) your particular emotions about about how you feel. Neither of which address the fact that she didn't break any law, nor did she break a lawful and reasonable request.

When you go off emotions and subjectivity, not logic, not law, etc. don't expect anyone to address you with such. Logic says this man had no reason to be fearful for his life, in fact if he did, I'm sure he wouldn't have stuck his hand down into her car to unlock the door himself. Logic says that a piece of paper can fit through a 3 inch slit and that you don't need to roll the window all the way or step out of the car to receive a ticket.. The law says she doesn't not have to roll her window all the way down ever.

The only thing you all keep typing is based off emotions and being to scared to inconvenience someone, neither of which matter in a court of law.

Actually no I didn't. I've been saying the whole thread that the chick is annoying and that she can been as a "bytch", but that doesn't negate LAW which is what many of you fail to disregard as you get caught up in your emotions. You can't lock someone up because they make you mad, get over it. With the way you all and the police operate/think, everyone would be in prison.

She was 'detained' when he pulled her over. He had every reason to arrest her when she didn't produce registration. "Detentions" short of arrest do not require probable cause. Such temporary detentions require only "reasonable suspicion."

This includes car stops, pedestrian stops and detention of occupants while officers execute a search warrant.

He escalated the situation from a regular stop (yes that is technically "detention", but that is NOT out of the ordinary) to custodial detention in which she had to get out of her car and potentially be handcuffed. If you don't see the difference between those two then you are being obtuse on purpose.

He situation didn't change until she got mad that she didn't roll her window all the way down. Again, she did not have to.
