Does giving someone a break matter when it comes to the law?

Again, you're being emotional. Instead of following the law.

I don't care if a cop saves my life. If he asks me to do something that violate my rights or constricts my rights, I'm not doing it. I understand if you want to do it, but I'm not. I keep my feelings out of my legal business.

You can frankly type any name you want at me. Just shows that you don't have an argument, but an argument based in emotion and feelings, which is pretty much confirming what I've been saying the whole time about anyone who thinks she's wrong for not rolling down the window because they clearly don't know the law. Thank you for proving my point lol.

If I didn't have an argument she wouldn't of went to jail.....we can argue what-ifs and post youtube links all day...........fact of the matter is she went to jail and was hit with several charges.......now argue that..

SHE escalated the situation.

He wanted her out of the car because she was acting suspicious for NO reason out of the blue.

Clearly we aren't going to agree because HE escalated the situation to me. He wanted her out of the car because he wanted to "show her who was in control" when she wouldn't roll the window further (Which she was within her rights to do).

You clearly don't know how charges work. People are charged with shyt all the time. Will the charges stick? If they do, she has a very good appellate case in making considering that the cop clearly reacted to her knowing the law, not her initial tickets. She could probably squeak out a civil suit as well.

Again, you are being overdramatic and a smart ass, like a female, because you are wrong.

Why does the fact that this woman knows her rights bother you all so much? LOL. Why does anyone need to start a fund for her? Why is it such a big deal to say "She was within in the rights of the law". That's being a "Freedom Fighting" "militant" to you? :russ: Once again, proving my poitn that you're emotional, sensitive, and overly dramatic.

Lemme go forget my rights and not exercise them so I'm not seen as "militant" brehs. :ohh: :russ:

I've been charged with a couple of things....trust me I know how they work.......You know why she got hit with so much stuff? It'll force her to plea down those charges...... I just posted a Youtube clip with an old man above, somehow I doubt this thread would of went 7 pages if he was the initial topic.........check out what the police says in the video............I'll wait

I'm not emotional over this.....You guys keep arguing the window thing, knowing she didn't have a registration to begom with and was being detained........how will she win in court? and I don't view you as militant.. I view you as a textbook person...

I doubt so as well because no one would have been calling him a 'bytch" or referencing what they felt was an attitude, or even saying that he should have rolled down the window.

And I don't care what that cop says. Not ice they say "it's best", not the law. According to police, it's "best" to let them in your house and search around for evidence of something, but it's not law

In that video, the officer said that "he didn't talk to him or give him any information." The girl in this case gave all of her information and there was enough room for her to sign the ticket. Also, how can we compare the two situations when there is NO video of the situation with the old man?

From a cop forum..

"
there is nothing suspicious
Refusing to roll you window down more than two inches in and of itself is suspicious. It suggests the odor of something is present inside your car that you do not want the officer to smell, such as drugs or alcohol. It also suggests you may be using the angle of the glass and any reflections off it to obscure contraband in the car you don't want the officer to see. It can also obscure the placement of your hands if you are reaching for a weapon. Finally, only rolling down the window by two inches may make it difficult for the officer to hear what you are saying over adjacent traffic and road noise.
For reasons of officer safety and/or completion of the citation, it might result in your being directed to exit the car. If the officer knew how to articulate it properly, a charge of delaying/obstructing could result if you refused to comply."

I'll leave it at that, we'll just have to agree to disagree...lol

He wanted her out of the car because her whole attitude changed without any rhyme or reason. From his perspective, that's suspicious, especially considering what her demeanor was like PRIOR to him coming back to give her the ticket.

Again, you are never going to convince me. Her attitude changed because she was pissed about getting a ticket (which she deserved). However, it is not against the law to have an attitude. The video shows that there was enough room for her to sign and get the ticket. The only legal mistake she made was not getting out of the car when he ordered her to (EVERYONE said that). Having an attitude and not rolling your window down all the way (but it is still rolled down enough to sign and get the ticket) is not illegal. This was about his ego and teaching her a lesson. We will never agree so don't even waste your time anymore.

Good, then you should know that his actions after asking her too, was legal.........If you already stated that then I don't what we are arguing about...lol

Asking her to roll down the window and she refuses is not breaking the law - We all agree on that

Asking her to step out and she decides to not exit the vehicle and roll the window up - is where the breakdown happens for some odd reason.

Did he give her a break to begin with? Yes or No? Answer the question Benjamin Button.

What break did he give her?

From what I see he STILL gave her a ticket.

I really don't see how a situation like this can have people so divided, the cop went overboard.

@SouthernBelle Its crazy these guys support cops abusing their authority so they can teach people a lesson. The cop wanted to use intimidation and fear to get his way. That is misconduct.

Also, he tried to stop a power window from going up with his hands, his intelligence should be in question, too.

Are you serious at the bolded? Are you serious? Every single last one of us has maintained that SHE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF THE VEHICLE! Have you been reading at all?

The break down came because some of us think that he only ordered her out of the vehicle because his ego was bruised. While many of yall are giving him a pat on the back and saying "fukk that bytch" simply because she had a bad attitude and didn't roll her window all the way down (although she still had enough room to sign and receive the ticket).
