From what I understand everyone is saying swallow your pride so things can go easier.

Her only mistake was not getting out the car, because its going either happen the hard way or the easy way. Rolling up the window made no sense.

It's not about pride, it's more of, you know you're gonna profiled cause you're black. If she was a cute white girl and had a squeaky voice and a docile demeanor the officer probably would've let her drive off. You gotta know your position in this country and not given in to these white folks that feed off of antagonizing us.

I dont see why some people are aways trying to be a rebel for the smallest things. If you can avoid a whole confrontation by rolling down a fukkin window just do it.

When I get stopped I dont argue shyt and just get my license and registration ready. I let them do all the talking and they write me the ticket and I move the fukk on. a $200 ticket isn't worth me raising my blood pressure talking to pigs so do what you gotta do write up your little ticket and let me be on my fukkin way.

What's the point? They still killing us dead in the street. And you got white jurors riding for the white defendant, because Zimmerman meant well.

Plus its Florida, if we forget our position, the white people will be quick to remind us.

I mean, it's not even worth it. Some shyt you should fight for, but this shyt could've been so easily avoided. That's just my take on it, but I respect your position and I'd agree with it if it was another situation.

Why even fight, though? At this point they winning every single battle.

You mean if we got a chance to see some of the other fukkery the cop has done through the years?

This whole situation makes me uneasy, because cops can do a lot of nonsense. Some you won't fully appreciate until it hits home.

Ride for the cop if you want to...black girl should have just stepped out the car, but no way should she have swallowed her pride.

I ain't riding for no cops, but shyt just ain't worth it. I've been profiled so many times that I just realized that they'll look for any way to get yo ass in trouble and you shouldn't give them the satisfaction of doing that. It's not like she was protesting and she was down for da cause or something, it was something petty about her car.

He was dead wrong, because all of this was from her not rolling down her window. He overreacted, on some nonsense, about "his safety."

But, all lawyers will tell you to flex your rights if you have time to kill. Or comply and be on your way. Charges will be dropped because she did not have to roll her window all the way down.

There are times I got stopped and didn't roll my window all the way down. Its a habit for most folks, and I have tint. Observe, next time you get stopped, I guarantee you that you won't roll your window all the way down, and the cop won't have a problem with it if its not night time.

But 9 times out 10, a cop will not let you get off easy for challenging his authority, no matter how right you are.

The most dangerous part of an officer's job is performing a traffic stop. You don't fukk around or make assumptions with anyone you pull over.

It's one thing if she doesn't consent to a search, but if you do anything to make an officer feel uncomfortable because you may be concealing a weapon used to harm him/her and then they give you a lawful order so they feel comfortable, that's probably the dumbest thing you can do.

If more people start pushing the issue and they see a spike in black people getting arrested, maybe we can keep them honest. At this point there is nothing keeping that cop from wylding over a non issue.

Rolling down your window is swallowing your pride? You are like the poster who posted the picture in here, you are trying to relate this to something on a whole other level.

How come you wont say anything about her rolling her window *all* the way up or trying to roll the window up on the officers hand? As said before something you fight for, this was not one of them. I can already see by your posts that cops can do no right to being with, so it doesn't matter what the cop did..But I bet if something tragic happens you'll be the first one to call them.

I don't think so, nothing's happened so far. Most people aren't even aware of the prison industrial complex. The solution isn't fighting cops and getting our asses thrown in prison cause that's happening anyway to nikkas who ain't even done shyt to deserve it. Yeah we should fight the system, but this is not the way to do it. We gotta get more of our people in positions of the government and wealth and maybe, just maybe, we'll be able to reverse just a lil bit of the damage. But that's just wishful thinking on my part. :manny:

She was being a diva and an idiot. You never argue with a cop like that because when it comes down to it, she looked belligerent and unnecessary. He explained to her 5 times why she had to do it and how, and she resisted for no reason. Just roll down the damned window and move on...normally I never side with the cop either but she was acting like an idiot.

I think so, only way change would come.

Why you think white people do it all the time? Check youtube videos and white people go out of their way to challenge the system. They despise the system more than we do. Any the system is actually there to protect them.

The attitude didn't help, and the only thing white people will remember is her attitude. Should she have said, "what law?" in a more neutral tone? Even then you going to slam someone to the ground over a non-issue?

Cop: The reason why I stopped you is because you have only one working brake light.
Girl: Awww, yeah. It's not my car. (Hands license to officer through FULLY OPENED WINDOW)
Cop: Umm, unfortunately, you're operating it, so....you know what I mean?
Girl: Yeah, yeah, I understand.
Cop: You have the registration?
Girl: No.
Cop: You don't have the registration?
Girl: No, it's my mother's car. I just dropped her off at work and I have an appointment....
Cop: Okay. So...
Girl: I don't have her registration
Cop: 'Kay, you don't know if it's in the glove-box where people keep it?
Girl: No
Cop: You wanna look? That's a $114 dollars right there for not having it.
Girl: (Says something unintelligible)
Cop: You're not the registered owner of the vehicle?
Girl: No, this is my mother's car so, I just dropped her off to get to my appointment...
Cop: Okay, so you don't wanna look for the registration?
Girl: There's no way I can get in-touch with her, she's at work. She works at a call-center....
Cop: I know, but most people keep it in the glove box. That's why I'm asking...
Girl: (Reaches to glove box, but doesn't open it)
Girl: So that's why you pulled me over, because of a light?
Cop: You only have one brake light, yeah.
Girl: Can I go get that fixed?
Cop: And when you changed lanes coming up to the light, you didn't signal, but that's probably a result of you not having your light working back there. 'Kay?
Girl: I can tell her about it. It's not my car.
Cop: Well, I mean, you are operating it so it's your responsibility right now.
Girl: (Looks stupefied through FULLY OPENED WINDOW)

So, basically, she had an inoperative brake/signal, did not properly signal to change lanes, did not produce registration on vehicle BEFORE he wrote her a ticket ONLY for the brake light.

He was trying to give her a break and she FUKKED UP by acting like a total a$$hole when she was in the wrong from jump.

I'm done with this fukking thread. Y'all keep trying to :cape: for this dumb-ass broad.
