I like that Discovery is taking place in the old timeline with the TV shows and movies that we know and not the new reboot films. I haven't even bothered to watch the reboot movies.

I also like that the crew has some age to them. Not everyone is a 23 year old hot shot. I hate movies like that.

It's ridiculous. The fate of planet earth wouldn't be in the hands of a 22 year old straight out of the academy.

Discovery has a young person in their crew but she is rightfully placed as a cadet...not a captain or senior officer before the age of 25.
