Picard was the tactician who could beat your ass, he also came back from being a Borg....

Kirk is dat problem...came with Spock who pretty much puts anyone to sleep, and with one of the best scientists in the known galaxy.

Its always between those two, with honorable mentions going to Michael...as she's "half" Vulcan.

Only problem I had with Janeway and I have said this before was her writing was wildly inconsistent.

First female Cpt, they tried too hard to make her Picard with t*ts. We never got to see her strength as an individual. While she had her boss moments (dealing with the Borg) they were based around others given her the helping hand. Kirk demanded to be heard, seen and felt, Picard made his opponents admit to him that he's better, Janeway just had a bunch of endgame checkmates while others played most of the chess, it was nice, but she needed to get dirty.

I don't want to spoil anything, just watch Deep Space 9 from beginning to end before the b*stards take it off Netflix. The first two seasons are rough but there's diamonds in there. From season 3 on, it's the best Star Trek, hands down.

That man dealt with political issues that the others never had to deal with.
He turned a backwater station into the most important port in the quardrant (yes the wormhole helped)
He made ethical decisions that I don't see the other capts. making (maybe Kirk) , no spoiler.

Finished TNG and couldn’t get into DS9 so I moved to Voyager. Will have to give it another shot after this

The beginning is a slow burn but you’ll appreciate it after you get into the dominion

I’m not sure Picard could of had a romulan senator killed to draw them into the war against the dominion

Let’s discuss
We really dont know that is not traditionally his skill set but one of the great lost opportunities of the tng movies is we did not to see any of picards actions during the dominion war.

Yea I know that but would he been able to do it?

The only time we saw him get pushed is when he was getting tortured by the cardassain.
