This discussion is always stupid to me when people compare Belichick v.s. Brady. I do my best not to turn into some anti-Brady person when supporting Belichick.
If we just take a look at the Super Bowls, how can people say it's mostly Brady during those games?
Wins:
Rams: Brady led the game winning drive. I don't care if it was a FG, he did what he needed to do. However, the Patriots defense shut down the "Greatest Show on Turf".
Panthers: Great game by Brady. He had over 300 yards passing and three TD's. Fantastic performance.
Eagles: Once again, Brady played a very good game. He did everything he needed to do and then some. The defense also held the Eagles to just 21 points and forced three INT's.
Seahawks: An historic 4th quarter from Brady. However, he had two INT's that helped put the Patriots in that hole. Hightower and Butler made two massive plays at the goal-line to seal the win. Brady did everything he could in the 4th quarter, but that defense deserves a lot of credit as well
Falcons: Unbelievable performance in the second half from the offense and defense. Scoring multiple TD's with multiple two point conversions is incredible. We'll likely never see something like that again. However, let's not forget the Hightower strip sack and the defense shutting down the Falcons in that second half.
Rams: Don't even have to get into any detail here. An all-time historic defensive performance. Brady made some big plays in the 4th quarter, but that was a defensive masterpiece.
Bucs: Brady played well, but that defense was on Mahomes ass all game. I'm not going to sit here and give all the credit to the defense because Brady still played well and didn't turn the ball over. I'd say this was the most complete team win for him.
Losses:
Giants: I don't want to hear anything about the Patriots having the lead with a few minutes to go and not stopping the Giants. This was the HIGHEST scoring offense in NFL history and they put up 14 points. There should not be one ounce of blame thrown at Belichick for that game. That was 100% on Brady and the offense.
Giants: A 13-3 record and putting up 17 points again. A massive disappointment there. HOWEVER, Brady did not have a lot of weapons that game. He had Hernandez and Welker, and then an injured Gronk and aging Branch. The Patriots held the Giants to 21 points. That should be enough to win.
Eagles: All-time performance from Brady, and that game is 100% on Belichick.
