I was born in 89 and didn't grew up on Batman comics but I learned everything I knew as a kid about batman from Batman TAS. The first live action Batman I saw was Batman and Robin(97).

I don't believe Batman 89 is a "classic" though. There was nothing that really set it apart from the other ones to me.

Plus it seems people any late 80's early 90's movie a classic just based off the nostalgia factor...

of course nostalgia plays a part, how could it not? if i had seen batman 89 for the first time as an ADULT then yes it is very possible that i might have different feelings towards it.

but when it comes to future generations how many people do you really think are gonna first discover this movie as an adult??? i'd say not many. i'd say if you have a kid that loves batman then chances are they will end up being exposed to this movie in one way or another by the time they are 5-6 years old. no later. and guess what... they're not gonna give a shyt about the prince music. they're gonna be in awe just like we all were. in awe of the gadgets, the batmobile, the costume, the music... all of it.

whereas dark knight may very well put them to sleep.

The vast majority of people prefer TDK and Nolans films. Ie. The vast majority of people are going to be pushing the Nolan films on their kids.

Besides that most kids are going to be watching the cartoons not the films. By the time theyre old enough to watch films,depending on their parents they are going to to gravitate to the better films.
Nolans film are objectively superior. You can argue burtons are better batman films,but not films.
