They are both dope. But Returns being better? Never heard that kind of talk before

The merchandising for those 90's Batman joints were so much better than the new ones. Those McDonald's ads and collectibles :ohlawd:

Tdk is so over rated... Wouldn't be so hyped up if it wasn't for ledgers death... I actually like the one before better.

Batman returns is my iconic batman movie.

They are both dope. But Returns being better, and 89 being straight up wack? Never heard that kind of talk before

89 is obviously the more iconic of the 2, but if someone were to say that returns was better i would entertain the argument. i kinda go back and forth myself.

returns looks better, it's edgier, has more going on beneath the surface, a better love story... and honestly i think you could make the argument that both devito and pfeiffer lived up to jack's joker, ESPECIALLY pfeiffer.

you got girls STILL dressin up as michelle pfieffer's catwoman for halloween. that was an ICONIC performance.

actually the hype train for heath ledger was in full force months before he died. i know it was a small window of only a short while because he died shortly afterwards, but the buzz for that movie after that first trailer was already pretty fukkin tremendous. heath's death just took it from a 10 to an 11.

now do i believe the movie lived up to the expectations? i don't know, it is hard to say. at the very least i think the movie succeeded in delivering on it's key bullet points.

- it got heath's joker over as an all time iconic villain
- it reinvented the superhero film genre
- it reintroduced the classic batman myth to a new generation and in a big way

and those are the reasons why i believe it is so highly revered, because it delivered on those undertakings.

but as an entity all onto itself, i hesitate to call it a "great" film. i love it, i enjoy it, i stan over it... but objectively speaking it is not an all time great movie. not cohesive enough. not engaging enough. the movie hinges entirely on heath imo.

I'm guessing it's just dumb luck that the script, acting and camera work in Dark Knight are being taught in film schools all over the world

Well put but fukk that shyt nikka. Just because it's nostalgic to you doesn't make it better.

Here's why TDK is better-

- cinematography
- score
- acting from Ledger, Oldman and Bale

And did you even read the comics breh? Gotham City was protrayed perfectly.

fukk Tim Burton, too.

I was with you until you said "fukk Tim Burton" :whoa: He don't deserve that. I think TDK is a better batman film, but the '89 version is no slouch. I enjoyed Batman Returns too :mjpls:

what is his conflict with the Mob, what is he trying to stop the mob from doing and why

the last act of the movie the mob isn't even relevant

it's batman trying to find the joker's whereabouts with that machine

and harvey dent doing complete 180 for no logical reason

nobody was even arrested for killing rachel, eric robert wasn't even brought in for anything, batman just questioned him while looking for the joker

The entire movie is still about organized crime breh. Clean up the city, same as any batman story is.

Harvey's 180 made sense too
