Im not making excuses but your complaint isn't something unique to HipHop. You can make this claim about anything from books to video games to music to movies:martin:

Hiphop culture is ONLY the most powerful and influential force in the black community. Why do u think "others" are so invested in it. Ask yourself: who REALLY controls it?

Im well aware that other influences exist, but im also aware that hiphop culture casts the biggest shadow. This isn't "music" we're talking bout. We're talking bout an entire destructive lifestyle and culture aimed directly at the youth. Movies and games are MARKETED AS FANTASY. Rap is MARKETED AS REAL. Major difference. When Denzel kills somebody in a film we know its not real. When these rappers rap about things they've done its taken as true to life commentary. Its all about "keeping it real/authentic" in hiphop

Ill watch this when i get back but yes. And no offense, but you are white. This is a problem in the BLACK COMMUNITY. When you turn on the radio you dont hear music promoting the genocide of your race. Sorry but i can no longer entertain this convo with you. You cant understand the POV of a black man here in AmeriKKKa. Peace

What other cultures have music as negative as mainstream rap?
Metal and hard rock have some of the
most angsty pissed off lyrics about just about anything suicide, genocide, rape, murder, torture etc.

I know The Coli tends to view everything through a limited world view but I cann tell you RIGHT NOW there are bands with pretty big followings that make what a lot of rappers say sound pretty tame either that or it's just as bad as any rap lyric.

So they're white for defending the genre that black people listen to the most:jbhmm:

The funny thing is PhonZhi is not even black while he's accusing black posters of being white. He's a white truck driver. These thread go the same, people destroy his bullshyt talking points, he sidesteps arguments, and keeps shyt posting. Then he does it again creating another thread.

Good thread @PhonZhi

I see the same trolls and agents going hard as usual. It makes sense that people will defend to the death music that they've literally been listening to all their lives. But at some point, you need to be able to take an objective approach and see things for what they are. Current corporate hip hop is a piece of the puzzle of an ongoing genocide against blacks. They stay deflecting talkin about murder rates going down, but at the same time mass incarceration is increasing. Current mainstream rap is helping to criminalize the youth, pushing them into legal slavery (prison) for white people to profit from.

Dr Watkins pointing out that they're using music to manipulate the subconscious mind of black children. How can anyone argue against this ?
