Also I think the NBA is trying to move things away from hero ball so you see more of those non athletic euro cats filling the league. IT would be advantageous for black kids to play soccer but that check isn't being cut like that in the states, and due to the infrastructure they can not compete what so ever with those kids overseas.
It’s easier to be a star in the MLS than football too...cats just gotta see the bigger picture

did you really say nobody cares about baseball in this country?
Yes
its is a fact that baseball's popularity is declining. look at the graphic or use google to find more sources

Football is #1 in the US
basketball will overtake baseball if it hasn't already

the only people that care about baseball are old, or from the non English/French speaking Caribbean.

I played club soccer for years breh.
I also played AAU basketball.

I'm pretty sure AAU cost either the same or more

And i'm pretty sure the baseball equivalent would cost just as much if not more (never played baseball)
I know the club system.

Especially in burbs that can sustain it.

It’s expensive man.

MLS blew up in the last 5 years. There’s actually a league big enough for people to care about.

These expansion teams are selling our entire stadiums.

Atlanta sets attendance records every game.
Dude you know I know all of that but they brought Pele over in 1974 to play in a league that that was supposed to be a tipping point yet here we are.

Point being this isn’t new. I’m enjoying getting into the game via United as much as anyone but before we start claiming an incoming wave let’s look at the history.

No it’s college. There’s no college forced system overseas.

It’s straight to the academies.

The USA locks players down in college and wastes and hampers potential for international appeal and development

100% agreed.
There is no reason why the MLS can't feature 15 year olds if they are skilled enough.

Some of the greatest soccer players to ever grace the pitch debuted on their club teams around 15/16.
This isn't American football where a 15 year old might get paralyzed for playing with grown men.

outside of the USA kids are signing contracts with professional clubs at 9 years old .....

If any American player wants to be world class he will have to leave in his pre teens to play abroad .....

the college system is stupid and shows a complete lack of understanding of the game...

how the fukk are you playing football in college in what are your peak years ..... very stupid

I didn't say it wasn't, i just dont feel like soccer cost a disproportionate amount compared to other club/AAU/travel teams.

If you said "club sports in general cost alot" then I would have agreed.
But you made it seem like club soccer was a special case

That’s wild to me because I went to Clarkston in the mid-90s so they always has a solid program but like the student population it was majority white. That’s obviously changed and Clarkston became more and more international which was just really taking hold when I graduated.

Clarkston became heavily international in the late 90s and most of the white kids ended up going to Tucker. i think the first wave of Immigrants were the Bosnian, then the Ethiopians, Somalians, South Sudanese, then the Iraqis and now a lot of South East asians are there now.

if black people flip soccer, its a wrap

only problem is the sport is expensive as fukk at the club level...needs that economy of scale that Football and Basketball have

and its more exciting than baseball

Black People have already "flipped" "soccer"

Cosign to the fullest.

I keep on saying this and I will always say this.

College has NOTHING to do with sports. The more we try to force this unnatural marriage of academics and athletics the more we will end up with dumb scandalous shyt like the NCAA, 1 and done rule, 3 years removed rule, and shytty soccer players

Makes sense.

I think it was Somalians and Ethiopians first. I went to school with plenty of them.

There will be another basketball league befor3 soccer takes off

You're selling a sport to kids that is predicated on skill over athleticism. This is what you're telling the best athletes in the world with 40m a year aspirations.

No one knows Freddy adu they all know lonzo ball they all know Zion williamson

Uphill climb I wouldn't reject to my son wanting to play. It's not Wacc its just not cool, the girls don't flocc to the soccer stars.

I don't see the NCAA letting soccer take off like it could if it means they can't be the gate keepers.
