That's so weird, because worldwide it's the sport of the underpriviledged. 'Cause all you really need is a ball and people can play in any type of terrain (sand, concrete, beach, patio's, etc...).
Jurgen (the previous US coach) pointed this out when he took the job and said this needs to change. Even though he isn't a great coach, I think he woulda been better suited to run the entire USSF and change the culture of pay for play.

That’s a good point combined with the way the current and future generations appear to be less inclined to participate in sports.

Also I think the NBA is trying to move things away from hero ball so you see more of those non athletic euro cats filling the league. IT would be advantageous for black kids to play soccer but that check isn't being cut like that in the states, and due to the infrastructure they can not compete what so ever with those kids overseas.

Yeah it would be advantageous athletically in general but to your point, that check isn’t there and they are so far behind the rest of the world.

So I`m not sure where you even mentioned those places. Every state has schools with soccer teams, not sure what "healthy" means when America doesn't have Prep Academies that are famous for producing the worlds top soccer talent, like you see for say basketball.
having a healthy soccer culture doesn't mean producing the world's top talent. with that logic, the UK doesn't have a a healthy soccer culture since most of the world's top players are not from the UK.
i listed those states because soccer is popular there, there's more infrascture in those states, plethora of opportunities and teams (i'm not talking about high school sports), and they produce the most soccer talent in this country.
its nothing to be in Union or Elizabeth NJ and see black and Hispanic kids playing pickup, Central Jersey has a lot of indoor soccer fields that are always packed throughout the year
CA, TX, NC and FL host development tournaments and games year round and clubs in CA especially have established networks with Mexican professional teams. the Chicago area has good teams too.

i know quite a few guys (from NJ, NY, TX) that ended up going to their parents country to play (mostly in Central America and South America). my brother had the opportunity to play for my father's country and US at the youth level.

so there is a healthy soccer culture in many parts of the US

yeah and if you got the check, hell you may be better off sending your kid to an overseas boarding school then a local school in Metro ATL where they are playing sub par talent 80% of the time.

Cross Keys and Clarkston got the best soccer talent in the state probably, BUT they lack infrastructure.

kids will go to baseball before soccer. Soccer isn't for tall people and when it comes to the top athletes in the states they are usually tall (6'1+)

baseball is a pasttime no body cares about that
Basketball and Soccer will continue to grow in this country

That’s American sports culture, a strong belief in leagues and organized coaching which has a cost.
No it’s college. There’s no college forced system overseas.

It’s straight to the academies.

The USA locks players down in college and wastes and hampers potential for international appeal and development

That’s wild to me because I went to Clarkston in the mid-90s so they always has a solid program but like the student population it was majority white. That’s obviously changed and Clarkston became more and more international which was just really taking hold when I graduated.

You gotta specify what you mean breh.

Kids already have gone to soccer. Its by far the most popular sport among youth.
Unless you're talking about HS kids (which is usually when they drop it)

As far as tall people... you didn't see what the Lion did this weekend did you? :whoo:
