The Opposite Of Elliott Wilson's Mohawk
i never said they refused to worked with them...we all know theres been great collabs between NY artists from other regions in the 90's plus i mentioned Dipset openness to help work with artists from other regions to the tri-state below in the post.

i'm saying back then rappers could tend to be more selective in who they worked with compared now when rappers may do it with the latest flash in the pan rapper because could profit them in a way..that goes across the board no matter where your from, but i used it as the example.
Ah ok. Well like you said I don't think that's unique to NY. I'm sure ATL rappers are picky about who they work with. That's just a benefit of being on top. But even at NY's peak we fukked with everybody.

so southern cities had an inferiority complex when it came to new york? :ohhh:

I can't imagine californians being the same way though; they're just as prideful in their cities as new yorkers are

Some of them did. The southerners didn't have as much developed and diverse cities back in the day compared to now. Some of them were literally :sadcam: that their favorite rappers called them something less than human, on some white supremacist shyt

Once we got our own representation why the hell would anybody wanna listen to NY shyt just because:childplease:....id say with the death of magazines, when mags like the source didn't just get to highlight a bunch of NY bums and try to shove em down our throats:mjlol:....we got innanets and was able to bypass the bullshyt....if it was up to magazines we'd be all thinkin French Montanna and Troy Ave was the future of hiphop:wtb:....they still get a little extra promotion then people from the average city but it can no longer be forced on the public that they guy is the next guy....and NY just aint relatable to the rest of the country,if you take pride in how different you are you cant get mad when people look at you like :what:...u climbin an uphill battle to make ya way of life look cool,to sound cool, look cool, when the majority of the nation don't live like yall and definitely don't talk like yall:mjlol:...and that's what hiphop is all about, good hiphop can change the hearts and minds of the majority though, aint been a lot of that to come out of NY,but when they do they can hold weight just fine:manny:...but no more freebies or people lookin at a rapper like :krs: just bcuz he publicized as the best outta NY no more,at least i don't think those type of east coast dikk lickin types of fans exist no more.

Nah, the internet merely exposed thing on how they really are.
:russ:, like jay-z and kanye being in the illuminati and 2pac not really being dead and "underground" rappers who smell like cheese cigarettes and misery make the best music while anyone who sells anything is the devil. yeah, right.

The vets in NY that broke bread with the south before they blew up are still eating. Nas, Hov, Raekwon, etc. still get love everywhere.

The ones that shytted on the south and were shooting subliminals constantly back in the day (Styles P., Fif, etc) are the ones that are starving now.

I don't really remember NY rappers openly shytting on southerners like that in the 90's tho :ohhh: if anything they didn't even mention them at all in their rhymes

When regionalism comes up, the east coast rappers used to laugh at southerners and talk down on them, calling them "slow" and "broke. Even the Wu Tang was guilty of it, to a certain extent.

the main problem with ny, is it sould't out.
this is one of the sellouts.
yet, people try to act like the shyt never fukk'n happened.
along with the other sellouts who were supposed to protect the shyt.
how can you have a culture.
when, the main dudes from the mecca are all on sellout bullshyt.

to many ny guys said fukk the culture.
when, the culture is why they were able to do what they were able to do.

damn near all the ny guys, were on sellout bullshyt.
endorsed sellout bullshyt and then, try to act native.
then, try to act like oh it's cool.

no, nikka..
it's not cool.

well the issue back then,
was the artist from other regions were not aligned with the culture.
yet, once ny sold out.
that eliminated the ability to check or try to bottle an artist regardless from region.
who was not a culturally accepted artist..
once, that was lost...
the power in the mecca was lost.

like real talk,......
what ny person that is prominent from dj's to mc's.
who had mainstream traction,...
did not sellout and you can look to like they kept it all the way real.

kool g rap, krs, and rakim are probably the only ones off the top of my head.
even, krs had to be forgiven for making a record with puff.
when, krs is supposed to never be making records with toys, ever.

it happened when NY rappers stopped being original and sold out by doing songs with or sounding like the same artist's who's regions they dissed and dismissed as wack. as soon as they lost their pride and started dikkriding, they lost all credibility from there on out.

Too many NY rappers tryna be like Jay-Z instead of themselves is what NY rap fall off.
