I don't need to see the movie to make the comment that I made. If a movie about slavery makes white people comfortable enough to laugh at it, then it's on some c00n shyt. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Hey, a lot of the blaxploitation films were "funny", doesn't mean that they weren't offensive and used to perpetuate the status quo which is white supremacy.
You got to see it. Trust me. It's a spaghetti western set in the south, but with a ex-slave trying to get his wife back.
The Boondocks had scenes of slavery something you can laugh at. You can't say that about this movie. If anything, whites and uncle toms (Stephen) are the butt end of the jole
That's because you're a dumb low self esteem having c00n who doesn't see the big picture when it comes to things. White play chess, c00ns like you play checkers.
Yeah I'm a c00n on his way to post grad to be a dentist. If that makes me a c00n then...http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/224/3/8/infinite_dancing_racc00n_by_arashi_senpai-d5asfm6.gif
and the irony in all this is in Inglorious Basterds, Christoph Waltz's character Hans Landa was also somebody who took advantage of situations that were not humane. If you remember in one scene, he told Aldo Raines that he may or may not think Holocaust is right, but there are clear advantage in it for him.
the thing with landa was that he also wasnt a nazi he made his point that he was a just a detective through and through, the nazi sh1t was just something he fell into
and yeah @ that scene where sheba was sexually eating those shrimps
i thought broomhilda was going to die and django was going to wander america the silent bounty hunter dragging calvin candies coffin from town to town

Well I think that Boondocks was on some c00n shyt to a certain extent as well, but that's a different discussion. No matter how you spin it, there's nothing funny about slavery. I also highly doubt that whites are the butt of the joke but again, i havent seen it.

To tell you the truth, I don't know you to know if you're really a c00n or not. I didn't appreciate your tone and how you came at me though, so you gon wear that for right now.
My point here remains, white people aren't comfortable being open and honest about themselves and their institution of slavery. White people wouldn't praise this movie like they're doing unless it's a movie that makes them feel comfortable. Danny Glover has been trying to get support to make a movie about the Hatian slave revolt for years with little to no success. The same white people that were in the theater laughing at the movie with you will be the same ones who will run away from any real conversation concerning race. You really have to watch white people closely because they're slick. That's all I'm saying.

You talking this shyt about support and nikkas c00nin' like you're the end all be all in this bytch put your money up and support the fukkin' website nikka. I get tired of you judgemental ass clowns criticizing about being this and that but you doing just as much as the white folks do for the website. I support my own muthafukka and don't you forget it.
You remind me of Larry Fishbourne on School Daze. Quick to judge a nikka but don't know shyt a out them. fukk outta here with that.

Learn to type in complete sentences you ignorant b*stard. Don't tell anybody that you're going to post graduate school when you're about as articulate as Buckwheat. Seriously, I can barely understand what your dumbass is trying to say here. You need subtitles. Who is "Larry Fishbourne"? Stupid fukk.
I actually donated some money back in 2008 or 2009 when I first heard about Danny's efforts to get the film made. You sound like a bytch with all of that whining. Nobody cares what you're tired of. These are my thoughts and if the truth hurts then say "ouch". Everything that I've said is true, you only take offense because what I've said has touched a nerve.

I'm sure that's probably true for films such as the Mack,Superfly,Dolemite, etc where criminals(pimps, drug pushers, etc) were being portrayed as heroes but alot of blaxploitaton films including those i've personaly seen(Foxy Brown, The Black 6,etc)the heroes were rebelling against the white establishment and whitey/the man was in many cases the man bad guy...I wish the blaxploitation era never died....I've only seen a few but the raw blackness in them are even today so relatable and much more entertaining than most modern socalled black films.

Not going to get on you, but don't speak on something you haven't seen. Slavery was absolutely not portrayed lightly. If anything it was portrayed with far more cruelty than I was expecting based on listening to some of you so-called militant. Some scenes were like, damn, didn't expect that. And, it wasn't about whites being the butt of the jokes, but rather weak minded individuals were those who were shytted on. In this movie, they were mainly white.
Glad I saw this. It was done far better than I ever would have expected. Doesn't feel like it walked any line at all. Far more respectful of the consciousness of that time than I ever would have expected from this kind of movie, yet kept that Tarantino feeling. I think even the jokes were well placed, and you even come out of there with a feeling of pride. Was fun to talk about the movie with some brothas and sistas I didn't even know after the movie. We all agreed on:
- Sam Jackson's level of c00nery was at all time levels
- Leo was kind of some pimpery with his speech. Evil ass character
- Jamie was much better than many have been saying.
- You could feel the cruelty and feeling towards black people back then. It wasn't over done, but done enough to feel it.
- The slavery parts were pretty cruel
