I agree... Even the brothel with all black women... Named after cleopatra? But all of the sculptures of cleopatra were white... It had me like :leon:

i didn't catch on that... even though schultz DID mention how the fighter that was torn apart by dogs was named after a muskateer who happened to be black.

I really enjoyed this movie and I am starting to notice a major push to make Kerry Washington a sex symbol she just isn't that she's not that pretty. But I really enjoyed the comedic presence of Jamie and Samuel L. Samuel L had a real life Uncle Ruckus going on.

The action was pretty good and over the top. I really wish that QT could of delved into the Germans story a bit more however and also more on when they were in the mountains. Dicaprios character was ok nothing to right home about and not really that dispcable of a character for the time frame.

Jaime killed his role the black excellence in this move was :childplease:esque and I gladly spent my 5.95 to see this.

I agree. Kerry was never that attractive to me. I just dont see what everyone else sees. She's cute but not :wow2: worthy.

Nah, he was talking about the author of the Three Musketeers and how he was black. (actually a quarter black)

The writer of the musketeers and Count of Monte, Alexandre Dumas, is half black. That's what Schultz was referring to.

I wonder how much of this movie lends to the QT theory that all his movies are in the same universe, I.e. which charecters in the movie were ancestors of other QT characters.

Well some of his movies are actually films that people in the QT universe would go and watch... Kill Bill and Deathproof, are films that people in Pulp Fiction, Reservoir dogs, etc.. would go watch in a movie theatre...

I'd assume Django would be the same type of thing maybe?

Django came fly out of the doorway sliding on his back?!

That was classic Western movie action right there :blessed:

I wouldn't be surprised if Schultz and Landa are related.

Schultz was a cool character, but there was definitely criticism of him and what he represents today. That's why I really liked the "I despise slavery, but I will take advantage of it. Having said that, I feel guilty" line.

and the irony in all this is in Inglorious Basterds, Christoph Waltz's character Hans Landa was also somebody who took advantage of situations that were not humane. If you remember in one scene, he told Aldo Raines that he may or may not think Holocaust is right, but there are clear advantage in it for him.

Am I the only one that thought the Phrenology speech went over peoples heads? I know there are people out there stupid enough to believe it true after seeing the movie.

Possibly, but in general I think some people out there are stupid enough to believe any fukking thing they here ya know? It's a valid point, and I wndered about that too. But I have to say, in my audience in NC, as soon as he mentioned phrenology, 90% of the audience audibly groaned and then one person loudly coughed "bullshyt!"

I'm curious if other people had reactions like that during that scene.

It is in the same universe. I'll try to link the interview. QT said one of the characters was related to maybe Michael Madsen's character in Kill Bill? It was a very minor character though.
