You'd think they were hanging folks left and right by some of y'all reactions. If you don't wanna see the movie that's fine, but how you gon shyt on something you haven't seen? The movie is about REVENGE and there was plenty of it dealt out.
schultz is a proof that the white man, even in a noble cause is detrimental in the cause in helping the black man. schultz is clearly a liberal that want to fight injustice wherever he sees it, which was why he got into the bounty killer business in the 1st place.
he claims he doesn't approve of slavery when in truth, he doesn't really understand it due to the fact he never experience the cruelty slavery presents 1st hand. he merely assumed its no different from bounty killing as he stated in the film. it was BECAUSE him witnessing the harshness of slavery upfront, and more specifically from candie's plantation along side his own PRIDE was broken by candie for ending up putting up 12G's for the purchase of broomhilde that he couldn't accept a person like candie get away with the upper hand, in spite they actually accomplished whut they came for. his moral sensibilities, something he taught django NOT to go off by, was the reason for his own demise and almost both django and broomhilde's as well...
The most slept on quote of the ENTIRE film is when Django said
"Black folks need to get away from around these White folks." He said it twice to drive the point home. Me & the wifey discussed this because it clearly meant that despite white people best intentions, they just don't understand...and in the end. We will have to do it alone. Which is why Django ended up accomplishing said goal all by his lonesome. The move was deep and had alot of layers.
Convenient. Like i said, he knew better then to even think about setting the film at a time that would depict those camps. The JDL would be on his buns so fast he'd have a rewrite before it even left his brain, friend.
sadly, you're right & your point is valid but I think this movie is needed in order to rip the Political Correctness bandaid off in order for folks to discuss the truth. This film had some rough spots for me to watch & listen to CACs laugh really made me the film exposed them later.
Now on to the film. SPOILERS cause I'm not tagging all this
1. Good movie not great, I wanted more violence from Django, should've given him a shotty & let him do some CQC work in that house -- even made it more meticulous (yes, I'm gorey like that). I liked Kill Bill vol 1. better...that film gave you time to savor the kills just like Black Mamba did. The Cinematography was UNREAL. Some out right gorgeous scenes i.e Django on the white horse, galloping holding onto mane, shotty in hand, The snow capped mountain scenes, and the headshot/blood splatter of the white horse
2. Kerry Washington was great, I've never seen a black woman played as the damsel in distress as good as this. KW really made you want to her. The flash back scenes i.e. the gold dress & the innocent blushing, was pure black excellence on her part. Really humanized her character & made her seem so vulnerable, sexy, humble, sweet, & loving. Best portrayal of a Black Wife I think I've ever seen.
3.The N-word was clearly said too much & racist cacs were laughing & indulging a little too much IMO, But the film exposed them by the end of it. This film makes white people look bad, I mean really bad. Every white person in this movie looked bad, even the German to a certain extent. When they showed those slave scenes, it was quiet as a mouse & it wasn't out of respect by the end of the movie...it was more of a "damn were we really this evil & sick as a people."
The film showed how any person with clarity of mind would say these cacs were some sick fukks back in their day & they not us have a lot of work to do on their moral compass. Those same Cacs who was laughing a bit too much was quite & really thinking about how evil they are & their ancestors were. It was great. Their mind was educated on the horrors of slavery & that it was nothing to play around with, by the end of the film they couldn't blame Django for blowing Cacs brains out no matter how conservative/Christian right they were. That last scene with Jamie & KW together celebrating was pure Black Excellence
I think this film is going to open the doors for more serious films that the black militants on the coli want i.e John Horse Black/Seminole/Indian or Nat Turner. I know I would eat those films up. The gates are open now and seeing how everyone is behaving themselves and the movie being a success I think will allow more (hopefully black film) developers the chance to get these stories told to a wide audience.
I honestly dont see how a black person could not like it. Movie is piff. Django was a G. Sam Jack was funny. I looked at the whole movie as like a grizzly comedy.

movie was great. exactly what i expected. i read the script when it leaked a while back. jamie foxx definitely impressed me. i expected him to get outshined by christoph waltz but instead he had the spotlight the whole movie. very impressive.

2. Do understand the movie (the disgusting behavior of white people during the slave era, the retarded baseless lunatic logic it was reinforced with, foreigners exposing the crimes against humanity, etc.) and are white, so they're offended by the over-the-top delivery of these themes.
There wasn't one intelligent, compassionate, redeeming white character except for Dr. Schultz, who of course is european born and foreign. All the Americans, were dumb, slack jacked, quick twitch hicks. Even Leo/Calvin Candie, the main antagonist, had the fatal flaws of being a fronter (francophone who doesn't understand french/huge library but doesn't know authors), susceptible to being fooled (needed the guidance of the intuition of Sam Jack to not get took), retarded (his phrenology diatribe was of course idiotic), and immense hubris (forcing the handshake).
Basically, white people gettin' mad, but slavery was probably 1000% times worse than what we even know about it.

yep, the entire film took a big shytload of a dump on ever Southern, Confederate flag wavin CAC that still subs to a racist agenda today. I think the use of the N-word was a bait & switch tool he used on them. Though I didn't like the method. He was basically saying, "THIS IS WHO YOU ARE & I ain't gonna hide it for no one." He just held a big mirror up to their face except all of us were standing behind them in the distance @ their nakedness. Just about the entire movie was insulting to Cacs.

Roots was hardcore for its day but watching the film back it was white washed to a certain extent. You gonna tell me that black man wouldn't have whipped that whiteman to death once he knew he had the chance to get back at him Black people despised Cacs back then, he would have shot those men & even when they got away at the end...they would have blown those cacs faces off to do it. It would not have been a peaceful way to escape slavery back then, especially with both sides holding guns. Now the Kunta Kenta parts...QT is way off base, that moved me & still does to this very day.
