actually what they do varies from place to place. SOme places use machines some use traditional pen and paper types, i think some even use a hole punch type system (i could be wrong.)
Now assuming it's a machine and it hasn't been hacked they just print out a report with the vote totals. If it's paper they have people counting them.

Then what happens is they get those totals and several news stations make bank for 24 hours guessing at who will win the most votes. States spend millions of dollars facilitating the vote, counting the vote, manning the voting stations, placing cops at the voting stations, etc, etc.

The country comes together for ONE momentous night and waits with baited breath while their votes are counted. Finally the votes are totaled up and reported in. The country breaths a sigh of relief....

a group of a few hundred people called the electorate ACTUALLY GET TO REALLY VOTE. Then the president is decided by what those guys say.

it's been proven and shown time and again that those voting machines are very easy to tamper with and "tweek". in some cases there is no paper trail anyway so you might be voting for some guy and and then somewhere a switch get's flipped and your vote counts as something else.

They'd probably call that state crazy or something, then show a news clip about a white kid being kidnapped and cut to a commercial the come back like nothing ever happened.

Assuming they also stopped recognizing the government, which if they didn't vote i think it would be safe to assume they did.

My guess is it would be like the game civilization. When you change governing types say from democracy to dictatorship you go through a period of "anarchy" then things go back to normal under a new set of rules only to repeat themselves again.

If history has shown us anything it's this two things.
1. History repeats itself.
2. Empires rise and fall.

We're an empire and like all empires we will rise (or already have), and fall.

My 18 year old asked me today what the difference between the democrats and republicans was and i finally figured it out.

Scenario 1:
Imagine you're walking down the street, out of nowhere you get smashed in the back of the head, you get raped and robbed of every last penny, then your left for dead. - - That's what happens when republicans are in office.

Scenario 2:

Folks need to smarten up. Some African countries are offering american blacks dual citizenship. That's a powerful thing to have but no one is taking advantage of it. Bottom line is politicians come and go but your fate is and has always been in your hands. Make money then you will have a voice to influence politics to your liking should you choose too. Otherwise keep thinking your 1 vote equals the opinion of bill gates... See who the politicians will listen too.
