this is the first time im of age so im voting :yeshrug:

and i feel like it doesn't matter if your vote "counts" or not. i could watch the superbowl the day after too, but its more about the experience and participating in the political system.

i think it counts but in terms of perception it means a lot.
if 80% of minorities voted vs the less than 10% that vote (or whatever low ass number that is) it would show them we're paying attention.

and really we do elect our congressmen and reps by popular vote and an HUGE turnout, a HUGE CONSISTENT, turnout would send a message and THEN shyt would change....maybe.

I felt the same way back in 04 bro, I thought my vote for Kerry would change the world cause my voice was being heard :upsetfavre:

Personally i cant support any black man that supported the slaughter and lynching of black africans in libya. Sorry. I dont think you guys ancestors would be pleased either. To be honest i made money under clinton. I made money under bush. I made money under obama. And i will make money under whoever comes next. The world wont end regardless of who is elected.

This country runs on money. If you want to have a voice thats how you do it. Voting may put a politician in office but money and donors decide their policy. Democrat or republican those with money dont loose cause they support both sides.

Real spit, and I actually like Obama too, his image alone inspires so many people of color but I just can't buy into all that political propaganda anymore. I see right thru it now :yeshrug:

THANK YOU.

I'm more worried about the Republicans controlling Congress than who gets elected president.

why yal nikkas treating this shyt like its the bloods n crips?....... ol its the end of the world if them other nikkas take power ass nikkas, buying into that bullshyt :rudy:

Last time the repubs had control was 2006-07 and it didn't really affect ur life personally in any negative manner bro :shaq2:

So the general consensus on Higher Learning is that since the country is ruled by autocrats who work under shadow governments and corporations, that our votes ultimately don't matter. Therefore voting is something sheep do, so I won't bother to vote because it's a free country and I have the right to not do so, a right that came into fruition ironically through voting.

And you wonder why politicians on both sides don't even pay attention to matters involving the Black Community, because they know black folk will either vote Democratic or not vote at all.

Listen, OP, those social issues mean enough to me to be motivated to vote in every election. I realize the candidates of the two major parties are practically identical, I'm not an idiot. But, I'd rather have people in office who share my values in those issues. Not voting means the other candidate has a better chance at winning. Plus I live in a battleground state. No, we can't afford to have your mindstate.

And to your last post ... sure, maybe no major changes happen between election cycles, but you don't think this country has changed because of government since it's foundation? Of course a President can't get elected and make radical changes to the system, but if like-mineded persons are in office consistently, then that change will happen over time. That's the hope I have.

I'm disappointment in u bro, As of now you're here by stripped of your atheist title from the "National Atheist Heathen Association" bro. The hope you have in these politicians is no different than the faith religious people have in their holy books/prophets. You are just like them now

Kill urself fakkit

I decided I'm just going to start voting for the 3rd party candidate. Not necessarily because I agree with all their positions, but I truly do think that some of the nonsense in our political system would go away if we had more then two viable parties :manny:

but u already know that the nikka ur voting for has virtually zero chances of winning so why vote at all??

yeah ur voice is being heard but for what? u still ain't getting what u want so what's the point?

seems like a big waste of time, nobody cares about ur little political statements bro. Only way that would work is if there were millions of like minded individuals (which there isn't because they're all sheep to the blood and crip parties...its ironic how they both rep red and blue too)
