but u already know that the nikka ur voting for has virtually zero chances of winning so why vote at all??

yeah ur voice is being heard but for what? u still ain't getting what u want so what's the point?

seems like a big waste of time, nobody cares about ur little political statements bro. Only way that would work is if there were millions of like minded individuals (which there isn't because they're all sheep to the blood and crip parties)

:manny:

Yeah, but my voice is being heard. It may not change anything...but with your philosophy the only people who should vote are those in swing states. In other words...I live in CT, a state that ALWAYS goes democrat. So, no matter who I vote for my state is going blue. That shyt don;t matter either.

If enough people get sick of these clown candidates maybe more will start taking other parties more seriously. Probably not, but fukk it, at least Ill have peace of mind.

Tom as much as you have enlightened many in this thread the sad fact is that people can't leave their own box. They realize if they actually do research on the two candidates or any of the 2 Party SYSTEM groups...you will see Wall Street backers and lobbyists supporters. This is about money to big business and a game similar to the super bowl for the elites.

Sadly Obama only follows the same policies as Bush with more War, More tax breaks for the rich, more money for Big Business and Banks. Nothing has changed in 4 years but those who are black need a real wake up call...a black president doesn't change White Supremacy rules.

i think most people just like to pretend like their voice is being heard. like they're doing their part or whatever. actually surprised at the amount of people here on HL that support voting. especially for this laughable red or blue party system(they should just put them together so ya'll can all vote purple).

Dudes are either seriously naive or they just can't accept the cold sad truth :to:

:usure: this shyt ain't enlightenment, its willful ignorance and it's a damn shame so many nikkas subscribe to this bullshyt.

I don't think any one president can fix the problems we face, but I know letting the wrong people get into office won't help us at all. I don't know if or how much Obama cares about the people, I think he genuinely does, but as he and the rest of the world found out it's not easy to make change happen. It takes years of fighting and scraping for what we want. Our power is our voice, if you want to purposely muffle yourself, you remove all of your own power and you are stuck at the mercy of the people you didn't vote for.

No candidate of any party will change your life overnight. But they can change your children's lives. They can change your retirement situation. They can change your education situation. They can change your employment situation.

Why does public policy not reflect the needs of the black comunity? Cause we don't demand that it happens. If politicians are convinced that you stupid nikkas don't care and won't vote anyway then why should they do things to directly help you?

And to those that say "your vote only counts in a swing state" that's bullshyt too. Swing states are only that because enough people decided to vote for the other party. If you live in a heavily red state and vote democrat yeah your vote might not matter this election, but if enough people in your state stand up and use their voice then maybe next election your state could become a battleground. It's all about resources, campaigns have limited resources so they only concentrate on the most important areas, if you show them that enough people are voting against them in a state they thought they had in the bag, then that forces them to use resources on that state. So even if your candidate looses in your state, you forced the other party to fight for their votes as opposed to just walking through collecting them.

To everybody in this thread GO VOTE. we need you to. You say nothing will change if you vote but the reality is NOTHING HAS CHANGED BECAUSE WE DON'T VOTE.

Reaching the conclusion that voting is a waste of one's time is sadly a rational response to the current system. People tend to mistake this for apathy, as is evident in this very thread, but that's not necessarily the case. One can still do one's part in staying educated, and encourage friends and family to always maintain a critical mind and to be informed and be compassionate. Support leaders in the community that are trying to Do The Right Thing. And then hope for a better day.

I just no longer believe the system can be fixed from within. One can point to many different and significant issues, such as campaign finance as has been mentioned here, but these are merely symptoms of something deeper. I'll let my man George Carlin articulate what I honestly believe is the root cause that needs to be addressed.

SOMETHIN REAL FO YO ASS IN THESE HANDS!!!!
I live in Oklahoma, which is ALWAYS going to have it's votes ALL go to the republican candidate....

I voted for Obama the first time, but moreso just an exercise in symbolism; I knew my vote doesn't really count.

I won't bother this time, cause even if it did count, I no longer believe in Santa Claus; let's say that obama and all his cabinet are really genuine about making the best America for everyone. The problem is that they are still in the minority, the other 1000s of demons in politics make it impossible for good intentions to actually take effect

You should still make your voice heard. If enough people in Oklahoma go vote then at least republicans will have to spend time and resources in your state. By not voting your giving them the win free of charge, at least make them work for it.

And you are correct Obama is not Santa clause. The entire country including Obama himself thought he was, but the reality is people will fight tooth and nail to keep the status quo, and any one man, president or not wont be enough to make real change happen. But by voting Obama into office again we let them know that we want real change and we will fight to get it. He might not be able to do it, but maybe he will inspire or appoint the person that can. They want us to get discouraged and not participate. But we have to continue to fight for our and our kids lives.

most ppl dont get past this so they say both parties are the same and checkout . ignorance and apathy is what these parties want. the less ppl vote and/or stay active in government the easier it is for those in power to stay in power. :russ: The whole system toppling down cuz less and less ppl are voting
