This man directed 53 films, and I've only seen 5 
But here's the order of the five for me:
1. Rear Window
2. Dial 'M' for Murder
3. Psycho
4. The Birds
5. Vertigo
Looks like I need to check out Rope and North by Northwest.

A while back I saw Lifeboat, good film. Hitchcock films are timeless in many ways.
I urge all fans of Hitchcock's films to watch Alfred Hitchcock Presents if you haven't already. He didn't direct every episode but the suspense and tension are done in a similar style to his work and there's a bunch of good stories in there.

Star Wars movies will always be my GOATs. But I really think Psycho may be the best movie ever.
Hitchcock is really better than everybody before or after him.

I'm probably the only on here following this, but TCM is doing another summer online film school course and this year it's Hitchcock. And it's fantastic.
Also, I now believe Notorious is his greatest film and The 39 Steps is his most underrated masterpiece.

Only two weeks into the 6 week course. It's inspired me to rewatch a bunch of Hitch I haven't seen in years, plus I've checked out a couple I'd never seen (The Ring, Blackmail and Secret Agent)

As for adaptations of Du Maurier novels, "Rebecca" is very true to the novel, and pretty much a classic. "Jamaica Inn" is a misfire, and it's really a shame there hasn't been a worthy adaptation, of what is probably her best book. All her work is worth reading but def. the two mentioned above, and "My Cousin Rachel", which Hitchcock would have been perfect for too.
