Yeah, that seems like a harsh shock to the system. I'm guessing it's to rewire metabolism though?
Based on fact no. Shorter eating window tends to blunt hunger and make it less likely to eat more cals.

There are some studies on the benefits to eating in shorter windows to overall health but relative to weight loss it’s calorie restriction.

IF is about a lot more than losing weight or restricting calories; the periods where your body isn't occupied with digesting the constant onslaught of food, it can start the process of autophagy, where it recycles old and useless cells, kind of like a spring cleaning. It makes a lot of sense when you actually start to realize that a lot of times we're not really hungry per se, we're just accustomed to eating at certain times. Of course, fasting for 23 hours doesn't mean you now have license to go ham; you eat good and healthy in that time you'll be helping your body out.

I do the leangains one. After a couple days, my body was getting use to it. I might decide to do it permanently and it's easy since I rarely eat breakfast as it is.

Yes. I do it with keto cuz it's pretty easy to not be hungry all day with keto. Just read a study that came out about how the prime timeframe for autophagy and insulin reduction (so cellular repair and fat burning) is 18-24 hours. I try to hit at least 18-20, with a workout around 16 hours in to add a little. I think I'll stick with IF after I stop keto/losing weight just to maintain something and some semblance of control over my caloric intake. It might not work for some people but I really like it and have seen good results.

I did it (still do most days now) and it did change the shape of my body def look lean. I do think that he slowed my metabolism tho I added more protein after my workouts. I do 16/8 so if at eat at 7pm the next meal is at 11am etc...

Been doing it for years, like a few have said in here the "magic" is when your NOT eating as your body has time to burn stored food.

The ultimate is Keto with IF

Yeah I just implemented Keto with the IF about a month or so ago.

The only downside is the keto flu I get for a day or two. But I lose about 5-8 lbs in a week each time I implement the keto with IF. With the keto I'm less hungry, and no cravings for sugar which has been a guilty pleasure all year but I have still been able to drop 110lbs in less than a year doing IF mainly....

Thats crazy, well done man, whats your goal?

Yeah its fat which is making you feel full and satisfied, it took me ages to get my head around how eating tons of fat can make you lose fat lol - but done my research.

Dr Jason Fung is a LEGEND you seen his videos, explains the scientific facts so easy.

For years I was always on cals in v cals out, that only works to a degree its all about managing your insulin as that controls what sugars you are using - glycogen or fat stores. Once I knew about that and reduced my carbs, "all kinds of fat just melted of me"
:myman:

When I tell coworkers or even my friends what I do, they look at me strange whilst having some fat outta shape body lol - "you need breakfast"
:mjlol:

I have been doing TKD lately as I am increasing my workouts and intensity, so I carb up 30 mins before I go gym. I dont go mad, usually just some oats so like 30g of carbs.
