Just finished this movie was dumb as hell and even with the Slavery backdrop they made it hard to care about anyone or anything going on. Literally just exploiting black struggle

It was okay, the story was lacking depth imo.
Reminded me of west world but instead of robots they kidnapped black people for slaves.
I knew something was off in the beginning when they showed one of the slaves with a septum nose ring piercing.
Nice plot twist tho, I thought it was going to be a time traveling sci-fi horror once the flash back started
Luckily the gay agenda went over my head in this one
I was triggered by the rape scene, I usually try to avoid slave movies but the horror aspect lured me in

Holy shyt this movie was terrible. I need my eyes cleansed after watching this and Devil All Time.
I said I was done with slave movies after 12 Years a Slave but the trailer caught my eye. Made it seem like it was a weird sci-fi/horror-ish type movie where a black person from the 21 century was transported back into slave time. That actually could have been a great movie.
The acting was so fukking bad. And the Julia character was incredibly annoying. I never want to see her in another movie again.
The only nice thing I can say about this "movie" is that Janelle looked like a snack in this movie. A true beauty at her finest.

As many others stated, I too thought this was gonna be either a sci fi time travel/reality is broken horror story.
Disappointed we got a "white folks just WANNA BRING BACK SLAVERY!" story.
No great performances. Jena Malone and all the other white folk were one note as shyt. Gabrielle Sidibe was nothing more than a "BIG GIRLS CAN BE SEXY TOO" strawman. Janelle was perfectly serviceable but nothing major.
