Yes!!

Now people wanna talk about albums with no impact... look no further.

Ever since Big L died... every nikka that was either 6 years old when it was out, or listening to damn near everybody BUT Big L at the time has made this shyt a top 10 of all time album. When it's not even a top 10 album of '95.

It's a dope album, L goes in of course, the production is OK... but the "classic" talk is :comeon:

...
I have issues with all Jay-Z's albums.

RD is dope, but pretty derivative of Cuban Linx and Ready To Die (among other albums), and nobody considered it a classic at the time. It's also pretty inauthentic - Jay-Z in a Mafioso costume, after the Fu-Schnickens costume didn't work out.

The Blueprint is dope, but lyrically kinda weak, with a couple flat-out bad songs (Jigga That N-gga, Hola Hovito) that don't fit the rest of the album's sound at all.

The Black Album is dope, but also has some weak songs, like Change Clothes And Go (who the f-ck still plays that?) and Justify My Thug (lol). And while some beats are nuts (99 Problems), some weren't all that. There's a reason why the remixes of this album were so popular.

But I don't think "classic" means "perfect." It just means the album has enough timeless music to hold up as a whole. Every classic album has a weak spot.

So, I guess they're all classic, lol.

As far as you fags dissing the goat album, please point out the (non-greatest hits release) from ANY RAPPER,that has more notable songs than

2pac-all-eyez-on-me-1996-retail-cd-back.jpg

Dont know how old you fags are but AEOM had shyt on smash, every whip bumpin it for years. I remember rolling around cincinnati 4 yrs after it dropped and hearing 3 different rides bumpin it and i'm not talkin bout singles either. All within a hour time frame. i remember the dj playing no more pain in 02-03 in the club, had the whole club reciting it word for word throwing up W's. Till this day nikkas bump that album on a regular. Hoes dont know what a classic is

Easily its Dr. Dre's Chronic 2001...that shyt has zero replay value, the guest appearances on the album are pure trash, and the fukking skits are lame...only songs I love are FOrgot About Dre and Still Dre...the rest is awful...I never understood the love for that album at all...Album is 2.5/5.0

Also Have to go with the Blueprint....the songs on that labum that are great are fukking great, but the ones I hate like That nikka Jigga, Hola Hovito, and Never Change are really bad, thus making it a great, but not classic album 4.5/5.0

I copped this album the day it came out. In fact I've purchased this album at least 2 times. AEOM has gotta be in the top 5 most stolen rap cds.

People were saying this album had too much filler and too many weak guest verses (except when they were outshining Pac) from day one.

Nobody called it classic when it came out.

Makaveli and MATW are better.

RU Still Down is more authentic.

Sales and controversy don't make it a classic.

When people say this, it kinda kills any opinion they have, because it shows they don't really have a grip on what the album's even about. They see that album cover and try to equate it with that whole Mafioso/kingpin shyt, and that's not the subject matter of it at all. Every song about hustlin' on that album is not a bunch of Mafia tales and shyt about rollin' with Italians and Colombians and stuff like that. Everything on that album is about street-level hustling. Stuff like going out of town, confronting out-of-towners, the decisions made when hustling, the downside of hustling, the money aspect... where is all that Gambino shyt everybody claims the album is on?

As far as his change in style... what makes it inauthentic that in 1996, Jay-Z wasn't still rapping in a flow that was fukkin' dead by then? Nobody was doin' the fast shyt by then except Bone Thugs N Harmony, and that's a totally different style. Only someone who was extremely outdated would've still been rapping like that around that time.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaan gtfoh with that nonsense. Where did i mention sales? Makaveli and Matw or both classics also. I love R U still down..... I've never met anyone in real life that dissed aeom or said it was anything other than classic NEVER EVER. I could do without some of the guest but my stance remains strong and you still didnt post one album that has more noteworthy songs than AEOM (dont try, you'll fail)

I sorta agree here. It's not really a classic per se, it's more of a dope album. but yeah in terms of impact that album didn't have any.

This coming from a Big L fan (One of my fav rappers ever)

Im glad you took the time to skim my posts. They deserve to be re-read with a glass of pinot grigo and a nice piece of fish.

Put the Pac pom poms down.

You clearly missed the part where I said 'opinions not facts'

Didnt miss it at all,but if you're not applying that logic when you discuss AEOM then why should your past usage of that logic be respected?

You're basically a hater. I asked you or any other that opposed me to name a rap album by any artist with more memorable songs than AEOM,you ignored and stated your hater OPINIONS. If what aeom MEANT TO HIPHOP doesnt define a classic, then what does? Multiple classic songs, defines the year in which it was released, had other great rappers taking a shot at double albums etc. You're just hating and trying to rewrite history as you've complained about others doing in some of your other post.
