Console wars.
Well then no one in their right mind will be buying used games for either console. That money goes to publishers, do you think they will NOT charge it on ps4?
You're in such denial it isn't even funny. How the hell do you ignore the difference between PS2 and Xbox games?? Wasn't the Xbox more powerful AND had better looking games while the PS2 was the most popular console out?? How do you come to conclusion that porting games this gen will be just like last gen when it's basically x86 architecture??Ain't no one trying to hear that here. According to the posters in this thread (Malta) porting happens with a push of a button and a few tweaks of settings. Since they are both x86 architecture it's as easy as pie ...
Of course these are people that have not sat in front of 2 lines of code. Never mind 5 million.
Obviously the jump from a SD to HD will be big but to say there is hardly a jump in comparison between the two games is juvenile.
I haven't even seen the game in person but the best quality video I found was a direct feed 1080P of the game. The difference is huge.
Cloud computing is already making computers capable of playing games well beyond their capabilities
Onlive was a failure man.
Doesn't matter if it failed. The point is cloud computation works.

Games THIS GEN looked WAAY better on PC and yet the consoles weren't x86 architecture but somehow, now you believe that the games will still be hard to port when it's been said that the new consoles are basically locked down pcs.
Bruh, that is game streaming. We already getting that with Gaikai (which I'm pretty sure will be part of the "new" PSN plus and won't be free). Don't let these MS codewords fool you. MS cloud solution and Gaikai are the same shyt but different toilets fam.
You didn't find it funny that they didn't address the horrible rumors (that ended up true) in the conference nor did they go in depth about specs? If the specs were better than Sony's or the rumors weren't true, I think we both agree they would have touted them.
They can try and pay off media sites and shyt, but the word is out and they are taking a beating in social media.
They are going to have to come out guns a blazing and almost backpedal/change their plans in these next few weeks. They can't change the hardware (dunno why some of yall even though this was possible), but there's only so much they can change now that they've confirmed it.
Yes. But PC games are built to scale across a variety of different setups.
Console games aren't built to scale. They are built for specific specs that don't change.
So if you want to tell me that the PS4 or the PC will be the lead development platform....I'll admit that the PS4 will have better looking games. But that's not guaranteed.
It's just as likely that the developers will max out the XBOX One and port the result to the PS4 with no changes.
It's the same reason that iOS games don't look any better on more powerful Android phones. Developers don't give a fukk. That's why. So they develop on the lesser powered iOS hardware and port the result to Android. As is.
Devs just want to sell with the least amount of work and $$$$.
But here's the thing though, the way the devs been talking about the PS4 makes it seem that it's basically a fixed PC. If it's a PC then they can easily scale the game down to the PS4 and Xbox One accordingly. Hell if they can scale Crysis 3 to work on PS3/360 then I'm sure devs can do this. You seem to not want to hear this for some reasonYes. But PC games are built to scale across a variety of different setups.

You can't hope that things stay the same because of how last gen was. I think the whole Ps3/360 multiplat thing was overblown. Games looked damn near identical to me minus a few games where the difference was easily discernible e.g. bayonetta, RDR. There haven't been any PC to console graphical differences between PS3/360 games. Most of the times people were just having jpeg wars with huge arrows pointing to a jaggy on a electric pole line way in the distance. In motion, you most likely weren't going to notice that.So if you want to tell me that the PS4 or the PC will be the lead development platform....I'll admit that the PS4 will have better looking games. You say that under the assumption that the Xbox One will be the lead platform again this gen for all devs based off of current gens history. It wouldn't make sense to not utilize the PS4's harware to their advantage when the specs are so similar to the Ones albeit a bit more powerful. It's just as likely that the developers will max out the XBOX One and port the result to the PS4 with no changes.
