Idc if I have to fight unbalanced bullet sponges, or the relic I need to complete the mission isn't even programmed into the game. I just know I need to be able to distinguish every blade of grass, and all my animations better be MGS sized cutscenes.

No you're not tripping. I do not trust IGNs 10/10 score. It's very clear that this is nothing but DLC from BOTW, which lowers the score for me. And I feel like Zelda is one of those franchises that can do no wrong, along with Mario. If Zelda is in the title, it's going to automatically get a 9.0 just from that alone.

I mean how many platformers have been made in gaming period? How many of them have borrowed a lot of mario's game mechanics? I'd say virtually all of them.
I like mario Odyssey A LOT.
But i’ve also had plenty of platform experiences just as good or better than Mario Odyssey.
Digital foundry did their tech analysis, after the day one patch it is almost locked 30 fps outside of a few instances. Resolution is 900p but it uses fidelity super resolution to hit 1080p

It's kind of a self fulfilling prophecy. By nature of how Nintendo designs their consoles, they don't get the same kind of third party support that the other systems do. As a result, the media spends most of the year complaining about how dry the Nintendo first part schedule is, and saying they're waiting for whatever their next big release is. Then, the game comes out, and really all it has to do is not be terrible, and adjusted for the context of the Nintendo ecosystem, the reviews get juiced.
It is what it is. Nintendo still deserves credit for making great games, because they're definitely playing a dangerous game by being so insular and self-reliant with their library, but they pull it off more often than not. Really, when you think about it, the last time they seriously caught a brick with their games was in the Wii U age, and honestly, that was probably more about the system than the games themselves.

I am once again asking, if these reviews are so flawed, why give them credibility in the first place? considering they clearly are not reviewing in good faith(according to a few in the arcadium), why care at all?
or is this a case of beat your chest when a game(or game from a platform) that you like gets a good score, and likewise make a shyt thread laughing at a game(or game from a platform you dont like) gets low reviews?
and when you think a score is too high just say reviews were dikkriding, and when a score is too low the good ol "they just didnt understand the game"?
I would like an honest explanation
