Its not neccessarily a race issue. A lot of black men do not like Lebron. They don't really hate him either, but they do not LIKE him.
Lebron has several character defects that make him quite unlikeable. His constant craving for attention, inserting himself into topics that have nothing to do with him, lack of self-awareness and excessive self-importance are a turn off for most men. He is the anti-Jordan in that regard. Jordan is an alpha-male and naturally, men gravitate to his personality type.
And that's not even mentioning the damage Lebron has done to the NBA landscape with his constant team-hopping, superteam creation and mercenary basketball players that has made the game much less appealing and reduced star loyalty to teams.
Lebron was the first supposed "best player in the league" in his PRIME to abandon his team and go create a superteam with other superstars, in hopes of winning "not 5, not 6, not 7" championships.
I'm not going to get into his personal life. Nobody knows what he does behind the scenes as far as cheating on his wife goes. Dude has been cut red-handed hollering at insta-thots and random white girls on Insta.

What's the context of these stats? What were his ratings pre-decision? Were the same people asked before the decision and after the decision? How many were actual Cavs fan and not LeBron groupies like teh majority who team hop wherever he goes?

Jordan's status was built by the most intense advertizing campaign for an individual athlete in world history. Look at the "what is the best commercial ever?" thread, and you'll see damn near near half of the submissions from posters were MJ commercials. And that was back in the era when there was no social media, and when talking heads rarely tore apart players the way they do today, so there wasn't a counter to the Nike and NBA narrative. Despite what people want to believe, psychology shows that the populace in general is impacted by that sort of constant impinging on them. The very fact that so many posters here believe, "These commercials were the absolute best ever made", even 20+ years later, shows how effective they are.
I think the fact that Jordan made a point of not offending White people does help maintain his popularity with them. But it's not the source of it. The source of it is that he played great, he won, and corporations did everything possible to build his legacy while he won. "MAGA cacs and cacs in general" aren't particularly looking for black "alpha males" to submit to, which makes @viktordoomsecretwars suggestion pretty ridiculous. They just do as they're told, like anyone else easily impacted by advertizing.
