Its not the label's fault that the Traphouse album was buns. :yeshrug: the difference between gucci and Jeezy's label experience was that Jeezy had shyt on smash right out the gate. Gucci had to make a career out of dropping 12 wack mixtapes a year and performing the 10 most popular songs.

When Gucci caught fire by spamming mixtapes years down the line he got a deal, they didnt let him die. He got re-signed to a major and got new push, remember?

This is the machine my guy

And he still never touched Jeezy's peak.

This is his career perfectly explained...

nikka how old are you?

:gucci:
26. None of the young hood nikkas ever wanted to be him, they never listened to him religiously in highschool either. Boosie was more popular in that demographic. It may have to do with him being more popish. nikkas wasn't listening to tip in highschool either and that was during paper trail.

Thats funny cuz they’re both in their 40s
Yeah that's hilarious. I guess gucci just came off as more of a ignorant hood nikka and he killed somebody so they liked him more.

It is true in terms of producing a bunch of c00n junkie boys with tattoos on their face, he and Wayne, while the calm real street dude era met a setback, commercially speaking :yeshrug:

Guwop had an organic run. Jeezy's push was pure payola. Cats that stan Jeezy are the type to dikkride billionaires and say they read 48 Laws of Power.

Gucci’s influence is on some aesthetic and A&R shyt.

Gucci was a super ignorant street nikka where Jeezy was more grown man and about motivation and overcoming. Gucci’s style of music was more enticing to a certain demographic of dudes. He also flooded the streets with tapes so he had the streets of Atlanta on lock where as Jeezy was more of an albums artist. Over time the white Pitchfork audience caught on to Gucci and made him a cult icon.

Lil Wayne is the most influential rapper though.
