This is one of the greatest cases of selection bias I've seen. You claimed that this only happens in religious institutions, now your qualifications are:


1. If a non-religious institution is doing it, but has to keep it secret, it doesn't count

2. If a non-religious institution is openly supporting it, but can't stop their nation's courts from occasionally prosecuting them, it doesn't count.

3. If a non-religious country was openly supporting it in the 1900s or any earlier century, it doesn't count.

4. If a non-religious country is openly supporting it even today....well, that's just a fringe case.


And India only got taken over by the Hindu Nationalists in 2014, before that they had been run by a secular government for 90% of their existence and their laws have no tie to religion. Did that stop hundreds of millions of young Indian girls from getting married off early?
