So I've been in touch with a Google recruiter to interview for an iOS software engineering position. He says there's no rush to actually start the interview process and that I should prepare as much as possible.

Problem is I’m not really dissatisfied at my current gig (yet anyway), I’m not really as psyched about Google as a company as I used to be and I’m not really motivated to actually do all the studying I need to prepare for the interview because my data structures/algorithms knowledge is rusty.

On the other hand, I look at their total compensation numbers and think I may as well buckle down on "Crack the Coding Interview" and practice whiteboarding. It’s not like I’m pressed to find another job at the moment, so why not? :francis:

Finally, interviews are starting to pour in. 2 in the week and a half with another 3 for next week. I want to get back my college stage where I was interviewing like 2-3 times a week, even for companies I wasn't interested in; just to get the juices flowing and what not.

Side note: I don't care for having Mondays off anymore. You have 5 days of work you need to fit into 4. I'll be watching the NBA finals from work tonight. Hopefully I can get home before 1am.

It’s funny how I get so much more actual work done on Fridays. From 9:30 am until now I’ve been on a tear.

Got up twice. Once for coffeee and another for a 20 min walk outside.

Gonna grind for another 3 hrs or so.

I'm blocked so I can't test anything today. Wasn't actually planning on doing anything anyway though :yeshrug:

I started running the numbers on cars again. If I did my calculations correct, I could just afford it when I factor in saving 10% of my gross income. I'm going to make a deal with myself, though. I'm going to put it out of my mind until mid July. If that car is still for sale then I'll get more serious about pulling the trigger. That will allow me to have a couple of pay stubs with my new salary, ideally my FICOs will increase a few points, and I'll have a few more bucks for down payment. I'm hoping my credit scores will be good enough for a 0 down loan and maybe even a ~1% rate, but we'll see. If somebody's snatched it up by then :yeshrug:it just wasn't meant to be.

My reports updated a little bit ago and one of my Auto scores is over 800 :banderas:

Summer is never kind to my wallet. All these social events and weekend trips adds up very quickly. Gotta help my sister move into her apartment in NYC, my good friend from college wants me to come out to NoLA, older cousin in LA is saying I should make a trip out. Got my cousins in ATL telling me to swing through and I got this Nigerian Igbo conference in Minneapolis as well. To add, my friend wants me to come to a wedding a Vegas but that's like $1,500 minimum for Labor Day weekend.

I may just select a few trips/events for summer, do them well, and call it a day. One trip to NYC over July 4th and one to LA later on and I'm gucci. I'll keep it relatively local after that.
I still have a huge trip to Nigeria in December which is gonna be a stack and some. That's life though :yeshrug:

Lowkey after I cleared off my debts earlier in the year I kinda took my foot off the gas. Need to tighten up for the rest of the year, especially with how uncertain the macro economy is at the moment.

I was referred to an internal position within my current company. It'd be a lateral move into a field I'd like to gain some experience in (FP&A). It'd be a pay bump but more importantly, a solid boost to my resume for me to pivot. Finally, I'd get to leave my current role which has been very monotonous and not very challenging.

Only problem is I have to alert my current manager about my interest in the role.
Once I alert him about my interest then he'll know I'm trying to dip. If I don't get the role then my days will be numbered :francis:

I'd rather not tell anyone about my plans to move until the day I have an offer secured. Only person I talk to about external job apps is my family friend (who referred me for the role).

Just told my manager I applied for a new role in within my company. He took it as well as one could :yeshrug:He told me to keep him in the loop.

What was ironic was as soon as we begun our 1 on 1 he commented on the fact that I've been rocking a blazer for the past 3 weeks (my office's dress policy is business casual, only a suit/blazer if you have an important meeting or are meeting with a client). He said many people had asked him if I'm interviewing for a new position because I'd been rocking a blazer steady.

I countered that if I was interviewing I wouldn't be wearing the blazer every single day. Plus, it's cold in my office
