I lead a four hour workshop yesterday with Texas Instruments. I rehearsed it with some of my colleagues prior and killed it yesterday

Looking forward to doing more of these. Tech Sales was the right move for me after some contemplation and mentorship.

So I officially got laid off on Jan 4th, and got serious about my job search even in the midst of tech layoffs.
Got good news from a recruiter today about a pre-IPO tech company I've been talking to since before Xmas. Had to come back to reality with the pay range I was looking for, but should get an official offer letter sometime next week once the founder gives his approval.

Still taking calls and interviews though because you never know. But one company I know I dont really want to work for has me on the schedule for a 2.5 hr group interview with 3 VPs. I really wanna cancel, because fukk all that. But I don't really have shyt else to do at home, cuz unemployed.

Put in my notice today. My boss told me she was disappointed but not surprised lol. I tried to quit 2-3 weeks before Covid hit and I was visibly frustrated around salary negotiations last summer, so I suppose the writing was on the wall.

I just want to reiterate what was mentioned earlier this week to automate your savings. I've always lived below my means, and thanks to automating a lot of the investing, I unconsciously built up a lil nest egg. I'll be taking an extended break from the job market in 2023 to recalibrate.

Spoke to the recruiter yesterday and it's basically a consultant sweatshop. I knew once he said "They offer overtime". Sir, I only want to work UNDER time. I think I'll just stay where I'm at for now. I do want to make more money though, but I might shift the focus back to slowly building my business and I also want to do more project management, front end just ain't it. Life gets on my nerves, it's never one right answer.

You talking about Toronto? I was there last summer to visit some family. Stayed in an AirBNB downtown. Started looking at condo prices…

Yeah man. I'm putting a future move out there into consideration, but when everything worth living in is in the millions, I just don't see it happening.

I reconnected with my cousins up there and I’d like to spend more time there.

Housing in general has me scratching my head. I’m doing well in NYC because I got lucky with the rent at my place, but I have savings so I’m ready for when this situation falls apart.

On another note, I’m getting older, but I wasn’t adventurous enough when I was younger. I haven’t done much traveling aside from some family trips.

Planning to go to Europe with a friend sometime in May because we’ve never been. And there’s a bunch of other places I’d love to go see.
