Yeah, that's exactly what I think is happening. It's shiftwork and we didn't get a lot of candidates over the holidays. He just wants to fill the position and he also said in regards for his lack of knowledge, "that's what the knowledge base is for"i think dude just wanted a body in that position AND/OR wanted to stay on code if you know what i mean lol
Why couldn't I find these type of jobs and interview when I started 10 years ago.
Ummm, he wasn't on camera, but his name is of Islamic/Muslim origin if that helps

yeah i remember interviewing for my first job out of college...and the dude interviewing me was blunt and impatient as shyt..it was a company that was literally 5 mins down from where i was living..after the "interview" he was like can i start immediately..something about that shyt set off warning bells plus i didnt think he had paid any attention on my skills or whats on my resume...so i ended up turning it down
Really it's a coaching session. We're on a 30 minute break now...dude been going over techniques and best-ideas to help me be more productive.
I'm still in "contract" mode...They were only asking for 1 case per day, now that I'm FTE they want 3...

I literally had to put my foot down. I was on a panel to conduct an interview and the guy clearly lied on his resume, at bare minimal extended the truth. Couldn't answer not ONE technical question. Just a bunch of word salad. He didn't even know how to find an IP address, it was THAT BAD. After the interview was over the the Program Manager said "I think there's a lot to like".
excuse me? He took the job description, gave it right back to us on his resume, couldn't answer one question and you like this dude because he has possible soft skills? He tried it, got past the recruiter/HR but he won't get past us. If I would have said yes, they would have sent him an offer. Lets just say they have never seen me like that at my job before. I was adamant we not hire this guy.

This new hire was a contractor who officially converted to full time at the start of the year. He’s had his new laptop for at least that long, so why is he still using his personal laptop for work?

I’ve gotten 27 out of like 100 people to install mdm on their computers. I’m not what to do about it now. This shyt is annoying and I feel like it’s not my job to baby people into doing what they’re supposed to do.
Also, I don’t have much interest in the happy hours and things like that at this job. I’m not sure why I’m so against the social activities. I went to the holiday party last month.

I think that's normal. I liked the people I worked with but didn't enjoy going to the happy hours
3 days in. There's just so much to figure out. I'm drowning and I'm not even on a project yet.
I don't get paid until the end of the month either.
