Pissing away atleast $40 dollars a day when you add up delivery fees, service fees, tips. Five times a week gets you in the hole for $200, $800 a month, $9,600 year. This is how they keep you in debt/wage slavery, by offering convenience at a premium.

This isn't funny, but I got word that my ex-coworker was laid off and yall I promise he's been let go so many times, I don't see why he keeps coming back. I was there 2014-2016 and the original company was purchased right before I started. Dude was let go when restructuring was finalized a few months later. They brought him back shortly before I left. The company was bought out again in 2017/2018, dude was let go again after restructuring finalized. Apparently he was hired back in 2020, the company was purchased AGAIN and just he found out earlier this week he didn't make the cut again. A severance package each time.

I’m so tired of being a solo IT generalist at a startup.

There’s a week long on-site next week. Entire company (100 people) coming into the office. Filled with presentations. We were supposed to use a vendor to run the audio visual stuff. That fell through and of course now I have to sit in the presentations and make sure everything goes smoothly.

And tomorrow there’s a meeting with HR and my manager about what my tasks are and what falls under operations/office staff. It’s probably because I haven’t been that engaged with the event stuff. Or because they asked me to look into getting an additional mic and I forgot about it until they asked again.

There’s also a bunch of after work events that week and it feels like you can’t not go.

And someone who was in office tested positive for Covid about a week ago.

Been contracting for my old gig for the past few months. Old boss was like:

“they’re stupid af, had they just given you what you were asking for, it would have cost them a lot less. I don’t care if they contact you for a 3 second question, you’ll be getting paid for the full hour”

He’s a genuinely good dude who always looks out for his people. Sucks it had to be this way.

So I’ve been making just slightly less than my gross salary per month when I was a FTE there, for about 15 hours worth of actual work for the month while working the new gig and just stackin bread. They hired a replacement that starts in a few weeks so that shyt gonna slow down. Making this much bread is nice but I actually don’t mind if it slows down as shyt is starting to pick up at the new gig and I need to be on point to learn all this new shyt. But truth be told, I’m kinda burnt out. Need to disappear for at least 2 months on a beach somewhere to reset. So if I were to get laid off right now I’d probably be happy, but I need to push through with this other realestate play i got in the works that should set me up for some passive income along with this SaaS shyt I’ve been working on with my business partner.

There’s just not enough time in the day, but I feel like grinding this hard ain’t good for my mental well-being. Still, there’s no way I’m doing this shyt till I’m 60+ fukk that. I’m out at 45, but I need a break :snoop:

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Welp...Time for me to go Zero Dark Thirty.

I got like 52 cases to investigate before EoM...

So, including weekends, I gotta do about 4 per day. for reference, I spoke to 2 co-workers today who have about 25 - 30 cases each to complete.

I been behind, though. But management is starting to notices so I gotta close out this month as close to the goal as possible.
