I'm learning that now...I was under contract with this company living cushy...barely doing shyt and getting paid about the same. I got on board with them directly just to have their name on my resume and these muhfukkas got me working for real now. Where was all this energy for the contractors??

Edit: anyways...I'm probably going to start looking to go the contractor route again after my baby is born. I don't wanna lose my insurance just yet
Congratulations on the baby!!

I have a daughter, so the benefits are super important. I'm taking advantage of my HSA now so I can pay for her braces outright since health insurance pays up to $2500.

I'm currently in data analytics and trying to push into project management...some combination of the two. I definitely can make the money to sustain and some, but probably with a combination of projects, which I wouldn't mind. I'm aiming this year to take on a second role anyway, where the second income I can stack and prepare for a permanent transition to a more self employment route. LOL I tried to hop out before and failed miserably, so I'm preparing more carefully this time around.
I’d look into master data management / stewardship. Hybrid of analytics and project management and super crucial for any business thus great pay.

I have a masters in data analytics with a specialization in project management that I obtained in 2020, right before COVID hit. I'm currently trying to earn my project management certification. *crosses fingers* I feel I'm in good positioning education and experience wise, it's just a matter of narrowing down some paths that lead to more freedom time wise.

Put in my notice today. My boss told me she was disappointed but not surprised lol. I tried to quit 2-3 weeks before Covid hit and I was visibly frustrated around salary negotiations last summer, so I suppose the writing was on the wall.

I just want to reiterate what was mentioned earlier this week to automate your savings. I've always lived below my means, and thanks to automating a lot of the investing, I unconsciously built up a lil nest egg. I'll be taking an extended break from the job market in 2023 to recalibrate.

Recruiter hit me up in Linked in about working as a Qlik consultant and I’m going to see what it’s about. I don’t really want to be responsible for actual development anymore, but I think it’s because of how my current employer operates.

This company is a Qlik certified business, so I’m assuming they will align more to industry standards, so things could be different. Let me quit overthinking what might happen and just reach out and see what he says.

This other recruiter, Indian, called Monday for a Qlik role at $65/hr. Lol he emailed the rate confirmation, I didn’t get it, so he kept blowing my phone up. I blocked him, then realized the email went to spam.

I don’t know what I’m going to do.

I literally had to put my foot down. I was on a panel to conduct an interview and the guy clearly lied on his resume, at bare minimal extended the truth. Couldn't answer not ONE technical question. Just a bunch of word salad. He didn't even know how to find an IP address, it was THAT BAD. After the interview was over the the Program Manager said "I think there's a lot to like".

:gucci: excuse me? He took the job description, gave it right back to us on his resume, couldn't answer one question and you like this dude because he has possible soft skills? He tried it, got past the recruiter/HR but he won't get past us. If I would have said yes, they would have sent him an offer. Lets just say they have never seen me like that at my job before. I was adamant we not hire this guy.
