Them shyts be so obvious.IT sent out a phishing email today to see who'd fall for it.
I did not .
It's easier to get a job when you have a job. Do you have time while on the clock to job search? I do that shyt all the timeHelp me out brehs/brehettes.
I'm finishing my MBA in a couple of months. I hate my current job. I'm trying to look for a new one but because of my resume its going to take time and networking to convince a big company to take a seriously look at me for the type of role I want. I want to quit my job and look for a new one full-time.
Obviously, this doesn't make much sense financially but to me its just like quitting to open up a new venture. Consensus says to just stay until a new job pops up but I don't know if giving the job search attention on weekends and some weeknights is going to get me where I want to go.
In my experience looking for a new job while you're employed only leads to another shytty job. You want to give yourself time to sit down and really figure out what you want and map out a plan to get there. Just randomly applying for jobs will leave you frustrated. I feel if you truly want to find a job worth your while, you should have a solid amount of free time during business hours.Help me out brehs/brehettes.

Try viewing it as managing problems and not people. Why are they making mistakes or slow to respond? It could be a personal trait, too much work or overall lack of direction. You could develop some standards and processes around deliverables where possible, then you're managing whether or not they can follow written instructions.A position just opened up at my company to manage a group of account associates. It pays $125K, which would be a nice increase from my current pay, and It would look good on my resume to be in a managerial role.
On the flipside, these account associates are not that great, slow to respond to inquiries, and usually make simple mistakes on things they are submitting to the account managers. Not sure I want the headache of getting them up to par. Plus I don't want to lose the connections I make with external customers/clients in my current role.
I have until the 28th to apply, so I'll be thinking about it heavy.

As far as losing your current connections, that's a tough one. I feel that risk would be there if you were changing company's completely, so at least you're staying within the same one. Good luck with the decision! I know you will do what's best for you and this won't be your only opportunity, so if you ultimately deicide to pass it's fine.
Thank you for this response. I’m really going to sleep on it tonight. Hell i might not even get the position, so I won’t even stress too much.Try viewing it as managing problems and not people. Long time lurker.. I'm an ATC (Air Traffic Controller), one of the few black/mixed men in my building (zero black women). Surrounded by majority white men or women.. I feel like the FAA has done a TERRIBLE job of advertising this job and posting it for people to see but I'm always gonna tell people in my community to reach out and apply when able.
ATC gets a bad rep for being "super stressful" or being boring, but it's not as crazy as it sounds. For people who are done with training (about 2 years) the starting base salary will be around $140k+ for people at an enroute facility. Normally with OT and shift differentials, new people who are done with the training will make 155-160k pretty easily and it only goes up every year.
Anyone looking to make a career change, that's UNDER the age of 31... there's a new bid opening for this job June 24th-27th. Just gotta apply on the website usajobs.gov during that timeframe and you'll be emailed a time period to schedule a test and go through the process.
I wanted to make a whole thread on this and give more information to people, but think I gotta post more in order to make a thread anywhere.. So just getting that info out now.
