So I don't think the website is going under, but I did hear a theory in TLR that made sense. Someone said the owners could've seen how toxic the site has become and are now just letting it float into the abyss.

First official week on the new team and I have a one on one with my new boss (who is also my mentor). I'm a little nervous because I felt I could be candid with her as a mentor, but now I'm not sure.
The next half of the year is looking up financially. Paid off something and $1600/mo has been freed up. I should be able to end the year with just my mortgage and student loans left to pay. If I can "over work" in 2023, I can get those paid off in less than 2 years.
I'm still trying to get these certifications and maybe the PMP as well before the end of the year. At least be more credentialed when I look for new opportunities. I just want to get through Summer.

Ain't post in a minute, but you can imagine El0n Masq got our company under pressure. Not really worried about my job, I could probably spring board to some other tech company (if they hiring) but I like it here.
New CTO started this week, so I'm in the office at least 4 days again this week.
He seems alright. But he also has an interest in the tools I use to manage IT things and it already seems kind of annoying.
He told me to look into possibility of switching from Azure to Google for our IdP. No jobs ever asks for knowledge of Google IdP features. If we’re gonna switch I want it to help my resume.
And he recommended some security software that was bought out by Blackberry.

How long yall let recruiters sit in your LinkedIN inbox before responding? They gonna look at me crazy cuz I didn't respond within 2 weeks?
I have a good reason given they probably contacted me due to my current role, current company, and what they can imagine my workload is like.

I don't respond to anyone really. I have let some sit for a week or two though, when I do respond. I don't think they'll care since they're blasting dozens of profiles each day.
I spent 30 minutes responding to folks in my inbox. My first boss from when I started my career in 2004 and some other cat I never met but we overlapped at this same firm in 2005, put me on their candidate list for Director roles.
I'm not looking to leave, but if Elon starts tripping then I'm out

I'm gonna be OK, if not in a better financial position after all this. 1 year in a tech company, delivering some high value add initiatives that other companies will need to do?
I'm good, but I also have the wisdom of work experience during the Great Recession and this not the end of the world.
One person saying the focus needs to be on overall design and cosmetic functionality and another saying it's tasks in the pipeline, just get it done and worry about cosmetics later.
Then all this focus on "strategy", but which strategy are you referring to; data, project, resource, client engagement? It's a whole lotta strategy out this muffukka (BIA BIA!) Everything is important, but no one wants to say "start here". I wish I knew what I was doing already
Meanwhile I'm still trying to wade my way through the lingo. Billable hours, WIP, AR Aging, Fixed Fee, and all that. I want to take some kind of legal billing class because understanding the data makes the job so much easier.
