Came to the realization that I'd be a fool not to look for a new job in this economy. Spent most of this wknd researching what recruiters are looking for and refamiliarizing myself w/ LinkedIn.

Speaking of which, I did some skills assessments on LinkedIn for the first time. Luckily went 4 for 4 in achieving badges. For a lot of the questions, it eventually becomes 'how quick can you google' lol. I know that's always a part of tech work, but that one and a half minute timer really adds to the anxiety.

I know I'll change my mind, but for now I'm focusing on professional and personal development. I'm not managing my budget well, so trying to make more money means I'll just fukk up more money :heh:

I signed up for 4 Qlik trainings, 1 per week over the next 4 weeks. Also found out my job provides free access to Udemy for Business and something called LearnUpon.

Maybe not a 10 year pin, but 3-4 years at this company wouldn't seem like a bad thing, but I'm fearful af to "settle" into this job. LOL it's so much like dating when you start liking someone too much, get scared and break it off before getting too attached(or maybe that's just me)

Did a recent 3 hour course on Mysql. Hoping to get a little more involved with databases. I work in ediscovery so we touch databases rarely. Looking to get a backend role in the future mid level dba role. Is it possible? Also what certs dhould i go for?

Companywide access to Bloomberg Law, appreciation. This platform is a wealth of information, can't wait to play around with it some more. They have a business intelligence section that could be helpful. The coordinator is hosting 1 on 1 sessions in April, so I'm trying to grab some time with her.

I'm beyond flirting with the idea but haven't consummated anything yet.

I sent off a bunch of resumes yesterday. Hearing from a lot of 3rd party recruiters and a few of the companies already so Imma have to tighten my requirements for a J2. Can't decide if I should go big w/ a +20% raise or just grab something easy that will nudge me into 6 figures. If I get the big raise, I might turn my J2 into my J1 and tell my J1 to get in where you fit in :yeshrug:

Did more informational interviews with Team X that I'm interested in. I talked to one director and although she works within Team X, she's in a slightly different vertical, and one that actually seems a bit more interesting to my long-term aspirations. The issue is she isn't looking to hire for another couple of months. Team X with Director A is looking to hire for Job A within the next couple of weeks (this is the role I've been closest to). Director B (who I talked with today) may not be looking to hire until the end of summer.

Director B also told me Job A has had quite a bit of churn being that it's dealing with a high-profile client. There's a lot of executive visibility but also a lot of executive decisions making so you are a tad limited in your own autonomy.

Ideally, I'd like to transition into a new role by the time summer starts so it coincides with when I move apartments, however, I think waiting for the right opportunity is much better....more informational interviews this week.

Gotta find a new job. My time at the current one is running out. :francis:

If anyone might be hesitating on getting an MBA, I'm getting people open to talk in our alumni network that probably wouldn't have given me the time of day otherwise. Hopefully one of these pays off. :wow:
